Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

The_Universe

First Post
Gen Con event registration begins at 12pm Pacific today, and I thought I'd preemptively create a place to discuss our experiences with the new registration system. As most of you are aware, the Gen Con registration system has NEVER functioned correctly (at least never on the first day), so complaints are expected.

But here's hoping that all of us (me included) get all the events we're hoping for.

DISCUSS!

I'm all set. I've got:

- 3:00 EST in my calendar as a meeting.
- Nothing to do at work this afternoon
- my schedule laid out, with some alternates
- a T1+ line at work.

I rock.

Here's my schedule if anyone cares:
Thursday:
(DM'ing) Goodman Games Dungeon Crawl Classics tournament
(DM'ing) a game of Round-Robin DM'ing
RPG00882 - True Dungeon
RPG00165 - Capes!
Alternative is RPG01551, some 6 hour D&D 3.5 game ran by an independent (taking a little risk there...)

Friday:
ENWorld booth (no registration reguired) :)
(DM'ing) a game of Round-Robin DM'ing
Ennies??

Saturday:
RPG02055 - CMG Mark's game
RPG01774 - some sort of Iron DM game, which sounded like fun.
RPG00600 - an Iron Lore demo, by Malhavoc
Alt: RPG01354, a high level Goodman Games DCC; 3.5 rules.

Nothing scheduled for Sunday, since I'll probably be driving back, and leaving early.

Alternatively, I'm ok if I don't get half of it. That just gives me more time to A) sign up for more ENWorld booth slots, and I can meet other ENWorlders, or B) run a couple of HARP and/or Round Robin pick-up games, preferablly for ENWorlders.

Well, last couple of years the servers had gone down because of the rush, so extect it this time around. ;)

I think last year they had the events for download ahead of time so you could at least prepare your selection.

One half hour to go.

My wife is doing all of our registration, so we can at least ensure that we'll end up in all the events we're doing together. Nonetheless, I'll have the reg site on constant refresh until it pops, just in case...

I fully expect it to crash (again) - but here's hoping!

The *only* reason I'm antsy about getting my registration done today is that several friends and I are trying to play the Living Force triolgy on Saturday, and that's the day that seems to sell out.

I have me, my girlfirend and a friend working together to make sure that we get logged on in enough time, i've been lucky to buy before the first crash, which i do expect.

I want to do all of the true's this time as they hve been the highlight of my gencon experience each year.

If i am correct, last year they postponed it a few days at the last minute (or was that the year before).

The website seems to be running a lot quicker than it has in previous year. Perhaps they have newer faster servers this time.

Two minutes and counting...

EDIT: The site has noticeably slowed, and I got a "page cannot be displayed" the first time I tried to load it. This does not bode well...
