Reincarnation and ECL/racial hit dice

"I wish he felt better" = "the spell kills him and then reincarnates him"?

Bizarre.

I was dead, something like -20 or so.
Basically the wish started off small, with a Cure Minor make him feel better, no and moved up the list. It hit Reincarnate before Raise Dead and Revivify.

It ended up great for me as a player, gives me something unique to RP out now.

In my campaign we have only had one reincarnation and a human came back as a different human.
In my old campaign (AD&D1 modified) we had several and I house-ruled that a roll of 00 meant coming back as a Troll. Typically, every time, the caster rolled 00.

As I am not too worried about an odd character being a few effective levels higher than the others (recently had one draw Sun from a Deck of Many Things - instantly went up 4 levels) I am fine with including +LA races, even Trolls. Might cause me some headaches setting challenges but I don't see a good enough reason to change the rules as they are. Besides saying that 00 = Troll, that is.

Don't forget the reincarnated beefy human psiwarrior who came back as a halfling (and promptly walked off into the mists when he realised that none of his old equipment would fit!)

There would have been a third too, if the rogue hadn't been killed by a pesky death effect

Sadly not me! One person got 'void', several others got fate or minor good things or bad things, I got angel of death

Good job I'd put a little thought into how I'd fight one if it appeared! (As did someone else who had got a ghost touch battleaxe expressly for the purpose - he actually joined in the fight to get a dread wraith of his own, which was dispatched in, what, about 2 rounds? And people still diss fighters )

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about the psi-hobbit.

Also, the unfortunate player who has now lost 2 characters to death effects: 1 Slay Living and 1 being negative levelled to death by an undead nasty who surprised him from a wall then beat his initiative.
