Release Date for Stargate SG-1 from AEG?

Hello All,

Does anyone know the expected release date for Stargate SG-1. The only information I can find is "August". What concerns me is I cannot find a listing for the book with any online retailers.

I understand that the book was on sell at Gencon, so it obviously finished.

Thank you,

- Josh

From what I remember from a thread on RPG.net should be available at the end of August.

The copies they had at GenCon were a limited print run that they managed to put together specifically for the event.

From past experience, AEG normally ship to the distributors at the end of the release month, with it going on sale shortly thereafter. I wouldn't expect to see it in the shops until the beginning of September personally.

As for the Gen Con copies, AEG got 1000 (or so) printed specifically for the event - from what I've heard, they were all sold as well.

Just in case any are wondering about size of book and price...at first I thought that the book was way expensive for $50.00, then I further read that it will be a full color book of a massive 488 pages thick.

That's 5.00 more than B5 or Armageddon:2089 and each of those are just 304 pages thick.

Stargate is a worthy purchase.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

I just ordered it from FRPGames.com as they appear to be one of the few retailers that list the product.

Can't wait to get this tome in my hands. Now I just have to convince my group to give a try.

I'm actually very interested in whether this is more of an entry-level game, accounting for the bulk. This could be a real wedge campaign for bringing in new players.

Did you know they sold more SG-1 DVD"s in Europe last year than they did James Bond DVD's? There's a base there, finding players might not be as hard as one might think.

Esdevium (UK Game distributor) has it listed on their release sheet for this week. So it should be in UK shops at the end of the week.

I got my review copy this week, and nowadays, I almost never get a product that much in advance of when it gets released. (It might be a special case if they had copies left over from the GenCon print run and that is what they sent.)
