Remaking horror?

1. Given that Hollywood likes to remake movies as they are more comfortable bets in the gamble that is movie production...

2. Given that Freddy vs. Jason was a lucrative success...

3. Given that a remake of TCSM will be hitting the theaters soon...

4. Given that slasher flicks - or any movie where teens are killed and/or menaced - are usually a success...

Do you think the original "ANOMES" or the original "Ft13" will be remade?

This is not to say they should be. All kinds of things that should not happen do happen; war, murder, what I cooked for dinner last night, etc.

Just, do you think that given points 1 through 4, will the original "ANOMES" or the original "Ft13" will be remade?

Maybe. Depending on the overall success of Freddy vs Jason. But then again, that is a movie that has been waiting to be made for many years now. I remember when Freddy's Dead came out and they were talking about a Freddy vs Jason. In fact, wasn't the last scene in Ft13th 9 Freddy's hand coming up and grabbing Jason's hockey mask?

I doubt it. Its easier and cheaper to just make an inferior sequel, than try to remake a movie that spawned a bunch of sequels in the first place.
The two Texas Chainsaw sequels really didn't have the same continuity that the Ft13 & Nightmare sequels did, so its not surprising to me that they are remaking that (btw, the trailer looks pretty good). The movie was originally ment to stand on its own, where Ft13 & especially Nightmare were designed to have sequels from the start. You could argue that Ft13 has a better chance, given that Jason wasn't the villian until the 2nd film, but given the way things are done in Hollywood these days, they'd just forget that the first time around it was Jason's mother doing the killings. So, in effect, it wouldn't be a remake, but yet another sequel anyway.

Gee, I had no idea I could use the word "sequel" so many time in one answer. I hope I spelled it correctly. :)
