remember "choose your adventure"?

YOUR TORCH HAS GONE OUT. YOU ARE EATEN BY A GRUE.

I found a copy of "Dungeon of Dread", on of the old TSR choose-you-own-adventure type D&D books at my used bookstore the other day. Great nostalgia! Now if I could only find the others ...

The Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks (which had something to do with a Steve Jackson (no relation) as the publisher?) were a lot more like RPGing than CYOA. Someone mentioned that those were being reprinted? I don't have mine anymore, much to my chagrin. I'd like to pick up the old City of Thieves one, at the very least. Anyone know anything about that?

Yep, go to www.advancedfightingfantasy.com. The books that have been re-released so far are:

1 - The Warlock of Firetop Mountain
2 - Deathtrap Dungeon
3 - The Citadel of Chaos
4 - Creature of Havoc
5 - City of Thieves
6 - Crypt of the Sorcerer
7 - House of Hell
8 - Forest of Doom
9 - Cavenrs of the Snow Witch
10 - Trial of Champions

Note that they are being reprinted in a different order than the originals.

I always thought that the art in the Warlock of Firetop Mountain set it apart from all the other books.

Do any other Fighting Fantasy books have comparable art?

Yeah, they were fun. Only problem was that I managed to unfailingly always choose the one course of action that led to instant death.
