REMINDER: Robin Hood on BBC America Saturday 03.03

Last weekend's episode that was broadcast by BBC America ("Tattoo? What Tattoo?") was the show's first episode in a while that seemed to have a bit more of a refreshingly serious tone to it, as opposed to the more campy nature of the previous episodes. Despite a few more jarring modern anachronisms (particularly Gisborne's remark "What are you, Locksley? Lord of the Dance?" in a situation that didn't even make sense in the context of the episode), it was probably the best episode of series so far - even the Sheriff's solution to destroying the evidence (i.e. Gisborne's tattoo) was pretty clever. :)

For those of you in the UK and elsewhere who've already seen the entire first season/series: do the remaining episodes continue the more serious tone, or does they revert back mainly to campiness?

I just saw episodes 1 and 2. I think they are fun. I like that Robin acts out of true compassion and not just a desire to get his lands back and beat the Sheriff. The silly stunts are over the top but just add fun IMO. I also like the relationship between Robin and Marion (clearly childhood friends) and between Robin and the Sheriff as the Sheriff tries to figure him out.

My wife went up to visit her best friend the Saturday of the first episode, and I've been unable to watch in that slot since, because that's the night HER shows are on---whatever they may be.
Seriously, though, she makes sure the house is quiet and still for both Heroes and Smallville, so I have to do the same for her on on Saturdays, even if it means taking the boy out of the house for awhile.
