D&D 5E Replacement for Aboleth?

"Figure out a way to force the aboleth out of the water" is easier said than done. In fact, I'd argue that, for a low-level party, it's this close to impossible.

The aboleth knows its own weaknesses. It's going to have minions to deal with stuff happening away from the water, and it's absolutely never going to leave the water to engage in battle. It'll swim away, come up with a new plan, precisely because it knows that fighting on dry land makes it vulnerable.
