Request for slight change in username

I'd like to request that my username to be shortened to Wolflord.

There is another person with the username of Wolflord, but that person hasn't been active since January of '05.

I hope this request for username recycling is all right.

Since the original was registered over 4 years ago and has never been used, I've made the change in this case.

I must stress that I'm not setting a precedent that we will always do this, even though there are a couple of occasions where we have.

Thanks

So I can't have my name changed to Piratecat? Aww.... :.-(

:p
Don't be silly, first you have to register as Piratecat1. . . then sneak up behind PC at the next convention and club him over the head. Then lock him in a basement for four years, during which time he won't be able to post on the boards.

THEN you can request the change. . . and release the PKitty. . . assuming he's still alive. You did leave food, water and airholes in the basement, right?

I kinda doubt you could get a name that has posts (well, maybe if it's just a handful, I dunno). Especially if we're talking thousands of 'em. So you'd have to get rid of his post count first. Someone took Crothian's post count once, so it's not impossible. ;)

Then again, maybe you could get Piratecat to change his name to something else first. Like, a spammer could pay him, presumably in shoes, to change his name to match the URL of the spammer's web site.

If someone had made even 1 post, I wouldn't reuse their name. If someone hadn't made any posts but had logged in at any point subsequent to their registration I wouldn't reuse the name.

The two occasions which have come up, the name was registered but never used at any point after that for years.

Cheers
