I don't suppose, come ENW2, that there would be some way to have the Ignore feature also include quotes attributed to ignored individuals, would there?

It would give processing problems; you'd be effectively doing a Text Search on every post in the thread. Ignore posters is easy - the id is a field in the database, but the quote is embedded in text.

Cheers!

Keep your facts out my pipe dream! :p

;)

Seriously, though, I guess that makes sense to me (given my limited text knowledge). I just wish for the day when the Ignore function truly let one go about one's daily foruming as if Person X didn't exist at all.

I just use the close my eyes, put fingers in ears and yell, "LALALALALALALALALA" option! ;)

Of course, if I'm on your ignore list you'll never know! :p

Use the mental ignore function. The one where you just gloss over the stuff that doesn't interest you.

It would be possible to allow ignoring of any response to an ignored poster's post though. vBulletin stores the parent post of every post since it is a threaded messageboard system (though most people view it in linear mode). However, the back referencing query would probably take an inordinate amount of time to parse - especially on a board this size.

So, no - this isn't something I'm adding to my already overloaded things to do list.

Update on the plans - CM's upgrade is a beta test of the bridge EN2 will use. I hope to have this running in 2 weeks.
