Residential Evil and D&D

Hi-

I'm starting a Forgotten Realms campaign set in Westgate with a Residential Evil tone. Basically a creature called the Servitor of Azathoth has taken up residence in the catacombs beneath Westgate and is using it's Aweful Luting ability to mutate the beggers and other refuse of Westgate's Thieves Quarter into hybrid Zombies. The Authorities of Westgate have sealed the Thieves Quarter thus sealing the players in with the infected residents.
Would hell hounds be a good representation of the mutated dog like creatures in the movie? Or should I go with the Hound of Tindalos?

That just reminded me of the court case where a judge ruled that video games weren't protected as free speech, because they could not "convey ideas" (one wonders why the judge was worried about kids getting their hands on violent video games if they didn't convey ideas, but I digress..) He listed several games that he had 'researched' before making the decision, all of them street-fighting, horror, and first-person games. At the top of the list?

"The Resident of Evil Creek."

Actually, the best representative for a Licker I can think of, off hand, is a Choker advanced to medium size that has a tongue for a natural weapon instead of slap-hands.

Well you definitely need a grapple ability. It might be cool if you gave them the "eat brain" ability from an Ilithid, perhaps that could what triggers the mutation that we saw in the first movie. "Hey, what happened to Shinny Joe the paladin? I dunno. Maybe that gleam over there in the darkness is him..."

Though if you are going for a residential evil kind of campaign. I'd think you needed to use more settled people than the homeless. After all they don't have a residence. Now if you really wanted to make things interesting you could have the kind of monster they turned into be based on if they rent or own, possibly with various subcategories based on the housing type (Condo, Rowhouse, Single Family Detached, etc...). Probably you should make HD/advancement based on the property values.
