Ressurrection flavored Feats/PrC's?

Herzog

Adventurer
My character was recently killed and then ressurrected.

Because my DM likes story-driven characterbuilds, I wondered whether there were Feat and/or PrC's out there that would match with this event.
Nothing came to mind, and a quick search didn't turn anything up, but maybe someone else has an idea?

Blood Mage is centered around it, but is a horrible class. If you go for it, see if you can get the DM to replace the Toughness prerequisite with the feat Improved Toughness.

Perhaps you would find being a Necropolitan interesting? It's a template that turns you into a type of undead, but it's from Libris Mortis.

I assume you mean that your character has been "altered" in some way because of the resurrection...?

If this is the case perhaps the intervening deity's alignment has some role to play in this.
Perhaps the deity's whose power the cleric called upon so as to bring you back to life, has somehow left its fingerprints on you. ?
Seen from this angle, i 'd say that your choices open up a bit.
You should check the Book of Exalted Deeds as well as the Book of Vile Darkness.

If for example the deity involved is somehow related to nymphs and feys
you could get Nymphs Kiss

ohh... and you can also check Fiendish Codex I + II. Those might prove helpful as well.

The Complete Series (with the exception of Complete Divine perhaps) are no good for what you're looking for. You should go for alignment related feats, wherever you can find them.

Otherwise, you can always talk to your DM you can both come up with a new feat, or even alter an existing one.

Not really an option to pick from other books (DM is kind of restrictive)

Blood Magus is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it's a spellcaster class, and I'm a warrior.

Maybe a little bit more info would help:

I'm a Dwarf Expert2/Fighter2/SpellThief1/Ranger1 (not really a power build, as you can see)
I've got weapon focus(throwing axe), improved shield bash and improved initiative.
I was going for Occult Slayer, TWF with shield (through ranger 2) and Mage Slayer feats.

The ressurrection could be a nice point to turn around the direction this character is heading, although I think anything caster related is not very logical.

Jimlock: I'm looking for something not directly caused by the ressurrection, but maybe choices my character will make because of his being touched by Death in this way.

Also, the ressurrection was performed by an NPC who is probably a ghost or something similar using a special ability (no sense in looking it up, it was probably introduced ad-hoc by the DM to allow the ressurrection to take place at all)

Depends on how you run with it. True Believer through to Pious Templar is a reasonable option for someone who's had a run-in with their maker. If you want something more low key, plain old Iron Will could represent a new-found resolve, and it's a decent feat for a fighting man.

How did the character die? That could be more important than them coming back.

There's also "Risen Martyr," which is a 10 level PrC. You can only advance in that class once it's applied; to qualify, I think you must be good-aligned and possibly have died while on a holy quest, then were rezzed. I think after 10th you ascend to the afterlife whether or not you've completed said quest. It's an interesting flavor PrC, comes with the "deathless" subtype too.

there is the touchstone feat, which will grant you a free resurrection, as well as the sandshaper prestige which will also res you, if you are buried in the sand...

i've had two characters die and come out altered... i just sat down with the dm and chatted about what i thought would be cool, and we worked it out amicably.

From the sources you listed, the Hunter of the Dead and the Vigilante- CompWar and CompAdv, respectively- seem closest for a non-spellcaster, though you might have to work with the background a bit. Consecrated Harrier has some potential on the RP side.

I seem to recall some other PrCl that had as a prerequisite similar to that of the Hunter of the Dead in that you had to have been through some really tough situation. It had a Fear-like power called something like Grim Visage or The Harrowing, or some such. Don't quote me on any of that, though- I could just be muddling up various PrCls in my head...possibly from non-WotC sources.

Also seconding the suggestion you check out BoED and BoVD, as well as Ghostwalk.

He got fire-breathed twice, got bitten and then tail-swept by two Large red dragons.

(I've already got favored enemy: dragons from Ranger, so that direction is covered :) )

I'll investigate the other suggestions
