Is it a REALLY REALLY BAD thing that I had no sound while viewing that, but could hear the soundtrack verbatim in my head as I was watching it?

That's the first season opener. The second season opener was a little different (and in my mind edgier, though I can't recall why).

I remember nothing about it except for the fact I always watched it as a kid.

Jetix, at 6 AM every Saturday & Sunday morning!

Though they use the UK opening, with just music, rather than the American opening: "Ranger, barbarian, magician, thief, cavalier, ...aaaaand acrobat!" "Tiamat the Dragon!" "Raaaarrrgh!"

Or if your DVD player and TV can play Region 2 and PAL DVDs, you can get it right now from the UK. I've had them all for quite some time.

I remember nothing about it except for the fact I always watched it as a kid.

Then you're in for a treat. The D&D cartoon remains one of the best kids' cartoon series ever made IMO mostly because it was so well written.

It's 20 years later I'm still disappointed in that cartoon.

It could have been sooooo good. It could have been a serious D&D animated show and they decided to go the route they did. <shakes head with sorrow>
