Return to the Temple. ( Group 2 )

First Post
An evil moathouse? How did such a small town find itself such big trouble? First the Temple, and now .. if the rumors were true.. there is a moat house that is just a mere scratching of the surface. Did this mean you needed to rid the smaller establishment of the corrupt beings it possess first? And.. did someone say something about a dragon?!

The Welcome Wench was bustling, as per usual for this time of evening. A fire roared within the oversized hearth; combined with the sheer number of occupants the people inside of the tavern did not go cold. Seated beside the fireplace was a bard, surrounded by a half dozen women-folk. It must have been his devilish good looks, as his singing ability made the yowling cats in the allies sound musical. Behind the bar a dour looking woman leaned, a scowl settled upon her visage, and arms crossed over her bosom. She truly did not radiate the warmth the fire did. Besides these two of note, a few others stood out. A shady looking gnome upon a bar stool, whom every so often shot a curious look about the Wench. Also a rather loud and boorish man bedecked in half-plate draws a lot of attention as he drunkily staggers from his bar stool and out the front door, rambling on about doing something like a race horse. Lastly, a young beauty bustles about the Inn aiding those in need of drinks and food.

I hate bards, Kanjo says quietly as he tries to find a seat in the corner of the room. He always felt better when he had a solid wall behind his back.

Mulnock sighs. "Boy I need money... If only someone blind enough walk throw that door, I could put my nimble fingers in actions." he thougth

Delkat Krotan

"I would agree with that sentiment." Delkat says as he looks sourly upon the sad display in front of him, then subconsciously moving his hand to the haft of his morningstar, which was strung to his belt.

Delkat did not approve of this sort of entertainment -- it served no purpose and created no physical product. All it did was occupy the minds of those listening and prevent them from doing something productive.

"I can at least hope that the sage in Verbobonc was correct about another piece of this set being somewhere in the vicinity of this town..."
He thinks to himself.

He had been searching high and low for clues and leads to more pieces of the legendary set called the "Vestment of Divinity" -- which was worn by a true exemplar of the fight of good against evil. The current rag-tag group that he adventured with had been quite beneficial -- he was able to obtain two of the five pieces to date, and he had just purchased a possible lead to the third.

But time will tell.

He sits back in his chair, stretching his back, trying to ease his aching shoulder from the long day on the road. Lifting his whiskey to his lips, he takes a long sip, before setting it back down on the table.

"I can't take much more of this -- I actually have heard better singing from a set of full plate."

Kanjo rises from the table and approaches the noisy bard, I shall give you 2 gold pieces if you shut up, he whispers in the singing bards ear. He tosses the coins in the bards direction and heads back to his table.

Gareth grunts. He shifts his bulk uncomfortably in the chair, imagining crashing a table over the bard... Nah, not worth it.

"Hey, I could just head out to the forest, bring back a deer or somethin', and leave the fools t' each other. Find a coupla' angry cats if ya want some entertainment."

Gareth looks around at the others, eyes stopping on the dour woman behind the bar. "Gives me an idea..."

He gets up and walks over to the bar. He plops himself down next to the sullen, surly lass and opens with, "Yeah, he sucks, don't he?"

"Certanly an amateur. I bet I can do better, lets see." Mulnock says, as he approaches the bard. "Let my see kid, it can't be that hard ah?"

Kanjo looks around the tavern, taking note of people who could be dangerous.

[sblock=ooc] I just wanted this to be back on the front page :) [/sblock]

The bard looks awkward to say the least at the approach of Kanjo, the flock of women seated before the fairly attractive man .. scowl at his hesitation in playing. He clears hit throat, "Looks as if I'll be taking a break, girls.." He speaks with a smile, though forced. He stands from the stool he was seated upon and motions to Mulnock, whether the man was serious or not, the bard had no way of telling. "After you good sir!" And with that, he is moving to the bar to buy some refreshment.

Meanwhile, at the bar. Maridosen eyes the approaching Gareth, but doesn't respond at first to his inquiry. After a few long moments, she shrugs. "I don't do idle chit-chat. Do you want something or not?"

[sblock=OOC]
I need a spot check from Kanjo and Gareth. And everyone, including Gareth and Kanjo, make listen checks. Please post responses in the OOC thread. Thanks!

Danvick lets out a sigh as he clenches his mug. That wasn't entirely necessary you know. You could have at least been more polite about it. Heckling is a useless pastime, he says without looking up. Something appears to be on his mind.
