Return to Undermountain

Don't you think that maybe they gave the WLD the Undermountain treatment? I think they gave the Undermountain the Castle Greyhawk treatment. :)

I don't remember hearing about the WLD having miles and miles of empty rooms.
And I don't remember any gummi bugbears being in Undermountain.

i wonder if my old pal... Halaster Blackcloak from the Mortality.net/WotC boards/ Dragonsfoot.org/ Grognard's Tavern/RPG.net/etc... will have any input into this work?

Given his... err, EXHUBERANT feelings about 3E in general, I would be impressed if he had anything to add to it, much less if he even came near it.

Who is he and why would he? Unless he were Ed Greenwood or Steven Schend, who gives a care about some internet schmoe's input to WotC's additional detailing of Undermountain?

There are some "internet schmoes" out there who have given and continue to give very valuable input to the Realms. Don't discount the fanbase's ability to produce quality FR work.

The irony is that the free series will probably provide more information than the old boxed sets which were significant for their lack of detail.

The old boxed sets were quite detailed, as I remember. They just went into more depth on the rooms that they did than providing a boring paragraph about the color of moss on the walls or somesuch for every room.

You know? I've liked Undermountain all these years, but I would really love to see a 3.5 conversion of Dragon Mountain.

Something about all those kobolds taking on haughty PCs.

Well, perhaps it'll follow other Web expansions in that there will be x provided on the web and then down the road, they'll collect and expand upon it and put it into a hardcover?

I hope so, too. I wouldn't want the WLD treament, either. A nice $39.95 hardback with detailed maps of the first three levels + would be sufficient (no empty rooms this time).

This should fix all your empty rooms. :]
