I've been planning my 4E campaign for a while now, and I got to thinking that a 'cameo' by an old adversary to my group would probably go down well and highlight how fun the 4E combat system can be.
Many, many years ago I did a 3E campaign with a 'Psionic' villain, he'd float about, protect himself with objects from the environment and generally try and outmaneuver the PC's whilst they try and throw everything they got at him.
If I'm being honest however, I never really had him statted or anything. He was just pure on-the-spot fabrication. I bought the Psionic Handbook, thinking I could stat him up, but after reading through it seemed making him exactly how I imagined him would be pretty tough, so chose instead to ad-lib him as I needed.
But I thought it would be fun to try and capture his spirit in a working form, by statting him for a 4E adventure. Here's my attempt at him.
I should preface this with the fact that I've not got the books yet, I'm just extrapolating this from what I've seen and heard thus far, so I'm not sure how balanced this is atm, until Friday comes anyway!
Leivanus Trent - Level 2 Elite Controller
Medium natural humanoid (Human) XP 250
Initiative +9 Senses: Perception +3
HP 52; Bloodied 26
AC 16; Fortitude 10, Reflex 14, Will 16
Action Points: 1
Speed 6 / Fly 2 (hover)
Telekinesis - Standard Action, At-Will, Range 10
+11 vs Reflex, 2d6+3 Damage
Leivanus flicks his hand towards an object and it lifts from the ground, not taking his eyes off you he flings it...
Mind Puppet - Standard Action, Recharge 5,6, Range 10
+11 vs Will, Take partial control of a target, performing one of their move or at-will actions. Save ends. Sustain Standard.
You feel another presence in your mind...
Psionic Push/Pull - Minor Action, At-Will, Range 20
+4 vs Fort; Push or pull target 3 squares.
Invisible waves of power wash over you, forcing you away from your target
Psionic Shielding - Immediate Interrupt, Encounter
Increase AC and Reflex by +4, sustain minor
Suddenly dozens of small objects from the surrounding area are pulled up into the air and begin to circle Leivanus. The objects move and react to your actions, giving him cover all around.
Feel free to post any similar conversions you may have tried out too, and how have they gone in game?
