I'm the type of DM who makes a rule decision/clarification and sticks to it forever after without really having much beyond president to back up later justifications. We play 2nd edition at my house.
For example - the spellcasting elf. While he or she could function perfectly on 2 hours of reverie (which is so not the same as sleep) the rules for a wizard state that the mind needs eight hours of rest in order to prepare for the daily routine of spell memorization which takes something like 10 minutes per spell level.
Well, with a new campaign and new players, I'm experiencing a lot of rebuttal to this. And I really can't find any SRD to either back up or refute my position. I can't even google it....so...
Can an elven bladesinger reverie and regain spells?
Also - my players seem to be under the opinion that reverie rejuvinates in less time than sleep, as in 4 hours versus the full 8, but I'm not finding that either. I love to give them their way and be taught new rules, but I equally love to be like - "there is just zero support for that claim, you are out of luck there!"
So any help is appreciated with notations on from where it comes. Thanks a ton and keep up the gaming fun...what a bland world it would be without people with imaginations.
