Review: Hot Pursuit

What I'd like to know which the review doesn't mention: are these the same chase rules that appear in Spycraft? Are them an expanded version of those? Or a different thing altogether?

They are a different thing altogether.

They are derived largely from the vehicle rules that appeared in Grim Tales, but there are some fundamental differences there, as well.

That said, they are perfectly compatible with both Spycraft and Grim Tales -- you can substitute these rules for their chase chapters almost seamlessly.

I happen to think they're more complete, more consistent and more fun than either of those rulesets (the chase portions I'm talking about), but then if I hadn't, I wouldn't have written them.

I agree, however.

I'd already outlined my chase with Spycraft rules, but the rolling table gave me some headaches. So I totally reconstructed the system to make it better accessible (since my players don't know the rules, I'm more or less springing it on them). I don't need to do that with Hot Pursuit, it's as easy and quick as they come :)

This ringing endorsement was brought to you by "not-in-the-credits" Berandor :D
