Remember, what Uk calls 'CR' is *not* the same thing that WotC calls 'CR'. That can cause some confusion if you are not careful.

Essentially WotC balance the CR to the party level. Whereas I balance the CR to an individual level.

One of the problems with WotCs method is that they still maintain the 1 level = 1 CR for Class Levels; but hypocritically they change the system for monsters. Whereas I use the same +1 Level = 1 CR throughout.

Yair, I'd guess it depends on how you handle elementals and subdual damage?

As for the large room: How big? A huge elemental covers a 25 ft by 20 ft rectangular area, and another 20-25 ft high. With a 40 ft charge, it could quite effectively defend a room that is up to 45 ft by 40 ft.

Of course, if he can't reach out of the summoning diagram, he's toast. I'd recommend subdual damage to the PCs if they don't want him to be dead toast.

Hate to harp on about the Situational Modifiers but rooting an enemy to the spot is the classic example.

I'm very certain that the work will be comprehensive, but there may be tangent concepts....

Yes, I think it makes sense for elements to be OGL. This is something I'll be working on with the publisher.

Its been awhile man, but I've still been following the thread (sort of), and would like to know if the final version of CR/EL will be based on 3.5 or 3.0? I'm sure someone has alrerad asked but I couldn't find where.

At the moment 3.0.

When I get 3.5 I'll see about converting what little (I imagine) needs converting.

That reminds me, does anyone who frequents this thread have the 3.5 Monster Manual yet? I am curious about any possible changes to the Planetar and Solar (I don't believe they have changed much, but I am curious nonetheless).

I'm sure someone has alrerad asked but I couldn't find where.

Hmmm, that would be difficult seeing as the books haven't been released as of yet.

Actually they are selling overseas, like in Holland. The people over there were give no release date and have been selling them early.
