Revised dodge and mobility

First Post
Dodge [General]
You are adept at dodging blows.
Prerequisites: Dex 13
Beneift: You gain a +1 dodge bonus to your Armor Class against all attacks.
A condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bouses. Dodge bonuses (such as this one and a dwarf's racial bonus on dodge attempts against giants) stack with each other, unlike most types of bonuses.

Mobility [General]
You are skilled at dodging past opponents and avoiding blows.
Prerequisites: Dex 13, Dodge
Beneift: When you use a move action to move, you get a +2 dodge bonus to Armor Class until the beginning of your next turn. This increases to +4 against attacks of opprotunity if you move out or through a threatened area.

Tremendously common houserule.

Beneift: You get a +2 dodge bonus to Armor Class when you move more than 10 ft. This increases to +4 against attacks of opprotunity caused when you move out or through a threatened area.

You mean the +2 applies any time during and after your move until your next turn (so you can circle and bob and weave around the bad guy for AC bonuses)? I like that.

The only problem I can see is that it is possible to get an AoO before you've moved the 10 feet needed for the +2 to kick in. Saying "This increases" implies that it won't work until the +2 kicks in -after- moving 10 ft. Forex, if you leave a threatened area at the beginning of your turn, you would only have moved 5 ft. before the AoO.

I've been pondering how to say it differently. Does the +2 dodge bonus apply immediately after moving 10 ft, like versus AoOs for bull rushing or does it only apply between your turns?

You gain it immediately.

Well if you decided to move only 5' it would be a 5' step, which doesn't provoke an attack of opprotunity. If you decide to move 10', you do provoke an attack of opprotunity. As the bonus happens immediately, you gain the +4 bonus against any AoO against you for moving.

Couldn't you just explicitly say that you don't gain the dodge bonus when making a 5 ft. step? Or that, you gain it upon spending an action to move? Dictating the distance I need to move isn't the intent, is it?

You can always spend a move action to only move 5 ft.

- Kemrain the Mobile.

Wait a minute... The +2 Dodge monus to AC from moving... Wouldn't that counteract the -2 AC penalty from charging?

Edit:Well there I edited it.

I also edited the feat below, which I did not create.
Lunge [General]
Prerequisite: Improved Charge
Benefit: You can make a charge attack by moving only 5 feet. However, as this is a charge attack, the feet move counts as a move action, not as a 5-foot step, and you may still only make one attack with the usual bonuses and penalties associted with a charge attack.
Normal: Charging normally has a minimum movement distance of 10 feet.
[bSpecial:[/b] This feat cannot be used with the Mobility feat.

Yes it would.

I like the idea for them, the new dodge version has been done before, but that doesn't matter.

I agree with Kemrain that the wording seems a little odd, how about "after any movement that isn't a 5 foot adjustment"

But I find it odd that you retain the bonus to movement for a round until after you stop. I supose it makes more sense when you think that all the actions happen in the same 6 second slot....

And when you realize that you don't move for 6 seconds then stop for a while and then move again. The game is turn based the actions really are not.

I don't care what the context is, that's a good thing.

I like the feats, lots. Consiter them stolen. Thanks for doing my work for me, sucker!
