Revised GSL on the way

I'm taking the discussion regarding WOTC's motives back over to the thread discussing it.

Scott Rouse has said a number of times that he has been the biggest hold up. Its been on his desk for atleast a month of that time, but he's been to swamped with other work to get to it. There's less people at WotC because of the layoff. Hell the person that started this thread isn't there anymore. They'll get it out when they get it out.

My grandfather owned a Chevrolet dealership in the 50s. I still have a bunch of fliers from Chevrolet corporation detailing their new "flying automobile rocketcars" line, ready for purchase "before the end of the decade". Those fliers weren't intended as a joke either. People even came into the dealership to put their names on waiting lists so they could be the first to own a rocketcar.

In 2008, with Chevrolet still making cars just as landbound as the Model T, I find those fliers and waiting lists pretty hilarious.

The plan to kill off competition while avoiding the uproar a clean kill of all 3PP support would have triggered is a success, if only a qualified one.

It is quite obvious that Wizards is content with the situation as it is now. If they really had wanted the GSL (or even its revision) to happen, it would have happened months ago.

Remember when we were promised that new 3.x material would get released under the OGL? How did that go?

Remember when they were going to make the GSL and SRD available before 4th Edition was released? How did that go?

Remember when the GSL and SRD were going to be delivered in June? How did that go?

How about the "end of the week" promise in July? How did that go?

And then, when we were told that the only delay was to put PHB II-type material in the SRD, and isn't a couple more weeks worthwhile for psionics? How did that go?
