Son of the town's blacksmith, he fell into the forge on the 17th of Erastus when he was little (Angradd's holy day), where it was discovered he has a definite affinity for fire and heat. Father renounced his mother over the suspected impropriety (Elemental blood? Thieflings? Rumours were running wild at the time), but they managed to work it out afterwards. Things were never quite the same after that though, making his family life uncomfortable and prompting him to find things to do outside the house all the more, most notably with his childhood friend and developing crush Ameiko, Sachiko the weirdly magical human girl and Elsbeth, the fully magical half-elven sorceress of ice and snow.

Note: Usually wears his hair bound back with a leather band.

[sblock=Notes]Lame curse: His leg was injured during the original forge accident -- not by the fire itself, ironically enough, but by the water his father dumped on him to try and save him.

His Touch of Flames actually comes out of his mouth like a mini, touch-ranged breath weapon. He uses it while smithing, hammering his work and heating it up with his fiery breath when needed.

Knowledge Local: Seemed appropriate since he's (so far) the only true native of the place. :)

Diplomacy: He's not very diplomatic (no training in Diplomacy), but constant contact with Ameiko has thought him to sometimes think twice about what comes out of his mouth (+2 Trait bonus).

Religion: Pays inconsistent respect to Angradd, god of fire and heated offensives (wears his symbol on a loose chain around his neck), which has silenced some of the wagging tongues, but he's secretly rather pulling for the much cooler fire-elemental-blood theory himself. Opportunities for other connections: Sachiko and Fastus have been dropping by the Rusty Dragon at pretty much all hours of the day whenever they can, singly or jointly. Fastus in particular spends the night from time to time when things are less than ideal back home (he's claimed the hayloft as his spot in summer, as 1) he rather likes horses, and 2) you get a fantastic view of the stars when you climb up on the roof and lie down up there!).

Other than that he's regularly being sent all over town on supply errands and customer messages for his father's smithie (charcoal from the woodmen, metals from caravans and/or local prospectors, quality tools, leather to repair gloves and aprons, food and regular/holy day supplies for the household, etc, etc). If you or someone you know deals in these things, or were in need of shaped metal goods, he and his father/mother might have dropped by at some point (or the other way around).

Besides the regular trouble the three of them somehow get themselves into every other week, he's also taken to helping out people that need an extra hand around town and its surroundings -- fixing gates, digging out clogged ditches, building barns, clearing out root cellars: anything not to be home too much, basically (Partially explains his Favored Son status too). He tends to impulsively jumps in without being asked, and also recruits anybody that gets too close into it, so some/all of you might have (almost?) lived the experience of being a carpenter, manual labourer or stonemason by his side for an afternoon. :)[/sblock]

BACKGROUND
[sblock]Snowcaster elves are relatively rare in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, but in the time prior to his earliest memories Suldrel's family, along with several others, had crossed over from the Crown of the World and settled in the Iceworm Hills. It was not the most welcoming of places, with many dangers and the (not entirely unjustified) suspicions of the Ulfen. But over time their neighbours came to grudgingly respect and tolerate them and there was some relative peace.

The elves of course are very long lived, and Suldrel had already seen his hundredth birtday, had seen the human friends he knew since he was a small child, all grow old and die, before one day his parents brought home with the a tiny human child of their own. The young Suldrel was old enough by this time to have a degree of maturity, but it was still a very confusing time for him. His parents said that they had found her, but when he pressed them for details they were not very forthcoming. And in addition, the child was not like any of the Ulfen that he had grown up familiar with. She was different and "exotic" somehow, a description he had often been on the receiving end of. But in any case Suldrel was a dutiful elven son and when his parents said that they were adopting the girl he accepted that he would now have a little sister: Sachiko.

The little Sachiko grew up fast, as quickly as the humans he had known had outgrown him as a small child himself. And Suldrel indulged his curiosity by watching over her often when his parents were away. Another elf might have found her troublesome, but for him this was no reason to discard his people's legendary patience. It was for this reason that he and Sachiko were away from the village when disaster struck: a linnorn, the terrible namesake of these lands, had attacked his village. Suldrel was watching over a young Sachiko at play when he heard a sound he will remember his entire life: the roar of the linnorm.

Knowing that his parents would instruct him to flee with his sister, Suldrel did just that. He took up Sachiko in his arms and ran. And ran, and ran, and ran, down the mountainside and towards cover of any kind. They hid for three days, surviving on what small game he could russle up, before he worked up the courage to head back to the village. It was a ruin. With fresh snow having fallen the previous morning it was impossible to do a proper count of the dead in the time he figured they had, so he gathered what supplies he could and left with Sachiko heading South.

Suldrel's first thought was to head to the nearest human village, but to his dismay he and Sachiko found that destroyed as well with much the same tragic results. So the young elf hatched a plan. Once or twice he had met a caravan trader by the name of Sandru who had told him and the other young folk of their village of the place he lived South, past the mountains and out of the Land of the Linnorn Kings. A place called Sandpoint. While they might find refuge with other people in the Land of the Linnorm Kings, his people were not trusted much, and especially travelling with a young human girl could likely bring trouble. The only question was how they would get there...

The journey to Sandpoint turned out to be one of several years, long than Suldrel could have imagined at first. He and Sachiko wavered from the path several times, stopping to live and work in several settlements along the way in order to build funds for the next leg of the journey or until they were forced to leave by suspicious and unfriendly neighbours. But eventually they were able to find passage on a ship that took them down the coast to Brinewall, and with spirits buoyed by their arrival in Varisia they were able to make it down to Sandpoint in just a couple of months.

Their arrival in Sandpoint was initially a disappointing one. Sandru was away on one of his caravan runs, and would not return for at least a few months. But fortune finally seemed to shine some favour on the unlikely siblings and they were taken in by the elven Shalelu who is able to sympathize with a family that has an elf and a human. She is not in fact that much older than Suldrel, but given her familiarity with Varisia than he and Sachiko lack, she naturally takes on the role of "big sister" to both of them.

With Shalelu's help, and even more importantly, her vouching for them, Suldrel settled down in the Sandpoint area with Sachiko. Being somewhat reserved and taciturn, he found himself working as something as a ranch hand with what livestock owners lived in the town. Work kept him busy, particularly in the evenings (due to his ability to see at night) when Sachiko could have most benefitted from his supervision, and as she grew up into a young woman he was not able to do much about abating her wild streak. They grew a little less close in those intervening years, but at least his little sister was able to make friends with people like herself: Sandpoint was not their first opportunity to learn a little about Tian, where Sachiko's family must have come from, but it was the first time they had been able to form a relationship with anyone with that same background. Though, strangely enough, it was only when Sachiko was with Ameiko that he began to get a feeling that there was something still yet, different, about her. He remembered how his parents had always been rather opaque about the specifics of how they found her, but it was not something he had dwelled on for years.

If there was one thing that began to bear very heavily upon Suldrel's shoulders as the years went by was the fact that Sachiko was growing, had grown, into a young woman. In the same time in Sandpoint he had merely gone from being not quite a man by the standards of his people to a rather young man. Sachiko would always be his younger sister, but in maturity she was surpassing him, and it terrified the elf. The brevity of human life was not a stranger to him, but the deaths of his friends all those years ago had still been different. They were not family, he had never been responsible for them. He became increasingly sullen as the years passed, and though Shalelu was able to offer a great deal of support (and him to her, for Sachiko was her sister now too), he was never quite able to shake off the sadness that always lurked in the back of his mind.

Elsbeth was the only daughter of Cathran and Arandor Lanthil. The family was travelling with a small caravan to settle in the town of Sandpoint when the caravan was attacked. Her parents quickly hid her and helped the others fight the attackers. To the frightened little girl, the fight seemed to last forever. Her heart beat frantically as she listened to the sounds of the battle raging all around. After what seemed like an eternity, the sounds of the battle died down. Elsbeth crawled out of her hiding place and began to look for her parents. She searched frantically until she finally found them lying on the ground. She tried to wake them, believing they were simply tired from the fight. She quickly realized they were both bleeding. One of the adults came over and tried to comfort the scared and orphaned girl. Elsbeth refused to move from her parents. She begged for someone to make them all better. She was told there was nothing that could be done, that they had fought bravely and helped save many lives. None of that mattered to Elsbeth. All she knew was that her parents were gone. They were the only family she had ever known.

The caravan continued to Sandpoint where a family was found for Elsbeth. Her life with her new family was fine at first. As she grew older, her new family started treating her more like a domestic servant than a daughter. She was forced to wash clothes, clean the house, and do other chores. If she refused, she would be denied food. She wasn’t allowed to have friends or leave the house without an escort. One time she snuck out a window to go explore. When her parents caught her, she was punished severely.

Elsbeth discovered her innate magical abilities during her teenage years. It was quite accidental and very shocking to the young girl. She had been staring absently while sweeping the floor. Without realizing it, strange words started flowing from her lips. When she stopped talking, she saw odd auras emanating from a few items in the house. These auras were not very bright but they were noticeable just the same. Elsbeth became frightened that she was being possessed by demons and ran out of the house and straight to church. She explained everything to the elder priest who listened intently. Afterwards, the priest reassured her that she was not being possessed by demons. He explained that he suspected she was learning magic and sent her to see Ameiko. Elsbeth didn’t understand what the tavern owner could do for her but respected the priest’s decision.

The tavern was busy at that time of day. Upon entering the tavern for the first time in her life, she was awed by the vast number and variety of people there. A barmaid came by and asked her if she needed anything. Elsbeth said she had been sent to see Ameiko. The barmaid pointed the tavern owner out for her. As Elsbeth was walking towards Ameiko, she was suddenly grabbed rather harshly. She turned and to her horror, saw her adoptive father staring at her. In a loud voice, he demanded to know what she was doing here and not at home finishing her chores. Elsbeth tried to get away but his grip was too strong. It didn’t take long for everyone in the tavern to stop what they were doing and give their undivided attention to the commotion. Ameiko came over and inquired what was going on. When Elsbeth tried to explain, her father told her to shut up. Ameiko didn’t take kindly to his treatment of Elsbeth and said so. He replied that it was a family matter and to keep out of it. Ameiko nodded and took a few steps away. Elsbeth thought it was odd when Ameiko started singing. She found it even stranger when her father was soon fast asleep on the floor.

Ameiko had the man dragged out of her tavern and took the confused girl to the backroom to talk in private. Elsbeth was grateful to Ameiko for intervening but also frightened of what punishment would await her once she got home. Ameiko calmed the young girl down and told her to just tell her why she came. Elsbeth started at the beginning with the strange words and then the weird auras she saw. She explained she had run to talk to the priest at church and that it was he who had sent her here. Ameiko was very comforting and offered a room for Elsbeth to stay in. She explained to Elsbeth that she likely had innate magical abilities that were now manifesting. She told Elsbeth that she knew some things about magic and could help her to learn more about her new abilities. Elsbeth couldn’t agree faster and was relieved to be out of her house.

During the next few years, Ameiko taught Elsbeth many things. Ameiko is a hero to Elsbeth for rescuing her from a dreadful home life and for teaching her how to control her magical abilities. Elsbeth would do anything Ameiko asked of her short of killing or hurting someone without a valid reason.

Elsbeth grew up in a very strict environment and was almost never allowed to leave the house alone. Her adoptive parents forced her to stay home and cook, clean, and do other chores as soon as she was old enough. Prior to that, as a young girl, she was outgoing and playful and had several friends. She has lost track of these childhood friends and Elsbeth is saddened by it. Now free of her strict parents, she has slowly begun to make new friends. Working at the tavern part time as a barmaid has helped her to regain some of the playful personality of her youth. Once she knows someone well enough, be it a friend, regular customer, local priest, or what have you, she is very open and outgoing with them. She knows she is considered attractive and rarely uses this to her advantage. She feels that doing so would be unfair to others.

[Sblock=Personality]Jariah is a secretive woman, not easily trusting of people when she first meets them. She can be polite and friendly if necessary, but she remains wary until she gets to know them. She is not above using her looks and gender to get her way, but prefers to use her wits instead. She has no qualms about using deceit or threats of intimidation either, being pragmatic. She can be extremely vengeful when scorned and is not afraid to use violence to accomplish her goals. Not really trusting in the laws of man or morality, she tends to just be herself and instead of worrying about the conflicts between good and evil.

Jariah has a wanderlust spirit from traveling around Varisia growing up, but no real desire to stay in Sandpoint. She learned to be independent in the dangerous world, but does not feel like settling down in one place. Someday she might want to have a family of her own, but sees no reason to stop traveling to do it. When old Nishka as her to go with Koya if she should travel abroad, she was actually excited about the prospect.[/Sblock]

Jariah was born of a half-elven father and human mother in Varisia. Her father, Justiel, was an arcane hunter, descended from wild forest elves. Her mother, Dorsana, was a pious woman of Desna that had a fixation in her wild youth for elven men. While traveling in a caravan, Dorsana had a regular tryst with Justiel on one of their stops through Nybor. One such meeting conceived Jariah, and Dorsana stayed in Sandpoint for a few years following the birth of her daughter. Jariah ended up favoring her human heritage more strongly, only inheriting elf-like reflexes and some arcane abilities from her father. Despite not having any real love between them, her parents remained friends and Justiel often came to visit the child in Sandpoint and even helped care for the mother and daughter's welfare when times were difficult.

Dorsana raised Jariah in Sandpoint, yet let her daughter spend several weeks over the year with Justiel after she reached her 8th birthday. Dorsana had resumed traveling with the caravans once more with her mentor and friend Koya Mvashti, another cleric of Desna. Jariah would sometimes stay with her father until the caravan would pass back through Nybor on the return leg. Whenever Dorsana wanted her daughter to stay behind in Sandpoint, Jariah stayed with Koya's mother Niska Mvashti.

In those months, the father and daughter spent time discussing the arcane arts. When she became a teenager some of her magical lineage started coming forth as well. This pleased Justiel as he was proud to be able to pass along some of his gifts and talents.


During those teenage years, Jariah spent as much time with Koya and Niska Mvashti as well as her mother and father. When she was 17, her mother was killed in an accident on one of the caravan trips to Korvosa. Dorsana was riding in wagon when it overturned. She was found inside with a broken neck when the men of the caravan tried to help her.

Jariah was consoled by the older Mvashti women as she mourned. A few weeks later, the young woman spent the year after her mother's death living with her father in his cabin in the forests east of Nybor. Without the influence of her mother, she pursued her arcane abilities with her father instead. While Justiel was a spellblade of a different sort, he was still able to help his daughter learn the methods of spellcasting and conjuration. She had practiced and eventually was able to call forth an eidolon. It took the form of a black cat-like creature that looked like a jaguar except for the sigil on its forehead and shorter tail.

However after learning more about the arcane arts, she was not content to stay in one place for very long and she resumed traveling with the next caravan of Sandru Vhiski that came through Nybor.

It was chance or fate that saw Jariah in Sandpoint a few weeks before Niska Mvashti passed away.

Jariah did not think much of it when old Niska Mvashti sent word for her to come to her home. She had been around Sandpoint for few days, but had yet to stop in for a visit.

She had seen Koya already. The older woman was still spry and they had been wistfully talking about visiting Qadira or the lands up north. The young woman was thinking that some tea and sweat cakes would be nice and she could as the matriarch about her days traveling beyond Varisia.

Approaching the house, Jariah had resolved to spend the afternoon hearing of Niska's travels. After knocking and entering the home, she greeted the ancient woman.

"Good afternoon, Nana Niska. How are you today?"

"Fine fine, child. Come have a seat I have something more important to talk to you about that how an old dying woman feels." The old woman was hunched in her favorite chair and gestured for Jariah to take a seat facing her.

In a humoring tone, Jariah sat down, "Oh Nana, you look well. You are not dying."

Niska's wrinkled face was not amused and she waved her hand in a gesture for the young woman to stop. "You and I both know I have lived longer than I should and look every bit my age. So quit you fooling dear, this is important."

Jariah smile dropped and there was some concern in her eyes as she looked back at the ancient woman with a arched eyebrow. She was listening.

"I am not much longer for this world. No, no, do not interrupt. And, my daughter is no young lady any more either. I want you to promise me something. If she decides to take it to mind to travel on a long journey to far off lands, you are to go with and watch over her."

"Where would she be going?"

"Never mind that child. Promise me!"

"Okay, Nana. I promise." It was not an arm twister, she would of course go with if she could. Any opportunity to see a far off land would be welcome.

"Good. Now go make an old woman some tea. With a little rum in it too. My old bones hurt."

Jariah nodded and went to the kitchen, smiling. Old Nana Niska would like a little rum in her tea even without the aching bones.

Jakira is not the brightest of creatures, but fiercely loyal to his mistress. He enjoys being vicious, vindictive, and has a lust for battle when unleashed. He has a tendency to say exactly what he thinks and is often unaware that he lacks tact or appropriateness of the comments. Where his mistress tends to listen more and not talk about herself much, he has no verbal restraint and will even be blunt or brash. With their telepathic link, his mistress often pokes him mentally and encourages the behavior, while she observes the reactions. [/sblock]

[sblock=Relationships]Ameiko:
Of course Jariah knew Amieko, didn't everyone? Whenever she spent time in Sandpoint, Jariah had at least a few meals in the Rusty Dragon. She had talked with the bard owner often, but she was not exactly friends. But the got along pleasantly enough. Jakira liked Ameiko well enough, she enjoyed making sure the bottomless pit had enough to eat.

Elsbeth:
In visiting the Rusty Dragon, Jariah had met and spoken with Elsbeth a few times. They were passing acquaintances mostly. Though they had spoken of magic on number of occasions. Jakira had tempted to tease the sorceress, but Jariah stopped him.


Koya:
Koya was like a godmother to Jariah. Now that both of their mothers were gone, they still had each other to lean on emotionally. Though, being much older Koya was often the more comforting of the two. Jakira also looked up to the mature woman as a relative and had affection for her too.

Sandru:
Snadru was like an older cousin of Jariah's. They did not always get along or see eye to eye, but there was affection underneath it all. Jakira enjoyed the man's spirit and often teased his mistress about her having a crush on the older man. Jariah denied it most of the time, but there was a little truth to the feeling if she was willing to admit it (which she did not).

Shalelu:
Jariah knew the woman, but hardly ever had spoken to her. Mostly because of the elf's aloofness. Jakira wanted to mess with the ranger, but Jariah stopped him to prevent any bad feelings with Ameiko since they were close friends.

Shachiko & Suldrel:
Jariah and Jakira knew them from hanging around in the Rusty Dragon, but they are only passing acquaintances.

Fastus:
Jariah and Jakira hardly knew the man, not visiting the smithies. They knew his name and had a relationship of only exchanging polite greetings on the street.

Wireth:
Like Shalelu, Jariah and Jakira had not associated much with him. They had nothing against him and his turkey vulture, but he was not the most outgoing person towards them either.

Analisse:
Jariah and Jakira knew Analisse very well, finding the mischievous girl that was adopted by Koya around all of the time when they visited. Her eidolon enjoyed teasing her with his crude humor, but it was all in fun as he was not able to match wits with the young wizard any better than his own mistress. They were all friends as much as anyone could be with Analisse’s anti-social tendencies.

[sblock=Background]Sachiko is an orphan, raised since little more than a baby by a family of so-called 'arctic elves' who a small community in the high rocky hills of the Lands of the Linnorm Kings. She knows little of her parents...she was taken from her mother just before she died. Though curious about her birth family, and prone to making up outlandish stories about them, Sachiko was happy enough with her adopted elven community.

Unfortunately, disaster seemed to follow in her foosteps, as the winter elves came under attack when she was still very young. She and her adopted elven brother escaped the carnage and fled down the mountainside. Days later they checked back, but found only ruination.

The only person they knew who wasn't in the village was the driver of the caravan who sometimes came through; Sandru. They vaguely understood he was often in a town called Sandpoint, so they made their way there. However, it wasn't Sandru who finally helped them; he was away at the time. It was the elf Shaelu who took them in and helped them...though in her own typically rather distant way.

A stranger to Sandpoint, and a bit of a wild child at that, Sachiko was viewed largely as a troublemaker by most. Maybe that's what brought her to Ameiko's attention. Certainly Sachiko was fascinated by the other girl; not the least of which simply because she WAS another human girl, and of Tian ancestry just like her! And of course, Ameiko's parents disapproved of their daughter hanging around this poor, refugee troublemaker...which just made it all the more fun.

The irrepressible Sachiko hated feeling pinned down to just one thing, and instead did a little of
everything. She buddied up with Sandru, convincing him to show her some of his tricks of the trade. Learned a little swordplay, and discovered in herself a touch of magical ability as well. But no matter what she did, Sachiko never shook the feeling that it wasn't enough. It wasn't right. She never quite fit in her own skin. So many times she'd look in a mirror, and it didn't feel like she was looking at herself.

Somewhere, somehow, she'd find that missing piece that'd put the whole puzzle of herself into focus.[/sblock]

[sblock=Description]Sachiko is a very pretty young woman of Tian ancestry, with unusual white colored hair that she keeps short, and equally unusual yellowish eyes that gleam in the dark like a cat's. She has a lithe, slim build that belies her strength, and is most commonly seen with an impish, mischievous grin that seems a little too wide for even her cherubic face.

She likes colorful, flowing things to wear when playing or lounging...and she likes dark blues and greys to wear when working her mischief. These two states compose almost all of her waking hours.

It doesn't take knowing Sachiko long to see there's a lot of unusual things about her. From the coloration of her hair and eyes, to the slightly longer than normal canines that give her grin a kind of 'cute fangs' effect, to how she seems to prefer 'perching' on things to just sitting down. Any one or two of these things might just be an isolated oddity, or a normal variation of a foreigner. As it is though, most folks who think of her at all have some notion about why she is the way she is; each one different.[/sblock]

[sblock=Personality]Sachiko has what could generously be referred to as 'impulse control issues.' It's not so much that she doesn't think about consequences...she just almost always either thinks she can deal with them, or thinks it would be really interesting to see them. Her perverse talent for and enjoyment of needling and provoking people is paired with an equal skill for placating them. Above all, Sachiko cannot abide stasis...if there is nothing happening, she takes it on herself to make things happen.

Even for her though, there are anchors. Her adopted brother and two best friends are, for Sachiko, the stable elements that keep her from flying off to the horizon and vanishing in a distant twinkle of light. She adores all of them, and while the manner in which she expresses those feelings is not always welcome (Ameiko was not all that pleased with her gift of a bag of 25 fresh frogs under her pillow), the sincerity she holds them with cannot be understated. They are the world to Sachiko, and threats to them are some of the very few things that can rouse her to genuine anger.

In most circumstances, Sachiko appears to be composed almost entirely of buoyant opimtism and a boundless font of energy. The optimism frequently crosses over into overconfidence, and the energy means she's always pushing against whatever boundary might constrain her...be it a literal one or a metaphoric one. When directed properly, she can get an amazing amount done. Without direction, most of the time she just finds trouble to get into. Fortunately, she's just as good at getting out of it, most of the time.[/sblock]

[sblock=Relationships]Suldrel: The fact that she's adopted has no impact on Sachiko's relationship with her brother. She is fond of making up ever-increasingly bizarre stories about how a human girl can be a sibling of an elf, but in her heart it doesn't even matter. He is one of the very few people she trusts enough to depend on, wholly and without reservation, and trusts deeply enough to tell anything. Though he can be a real stick in the mud, she understands on some level that she's been a real handful for him to look after as well. While it's not accurate to say that she 'minds' him, he is definitely the person who has the most influence over her behavior.

Fastus: One of her two best friends in Sandpoint, Fastus is one of her preferred targets for pranks and general tomfoolry...either as a subject, or as a cohort. She appreciates his tempramental nature, which rarely disappoints her in her constant quest for reactions in people. Out of respect for his craft, she has also made the forge and smithy into a kind of 'safe zone' for the young man...not out of any discussion or agreement, but just out of respect. Sachiko rarely goes in while he's working, because it's INCREDIBLY boring, but when she does it's always without guile or intent to make his life difficult.

Ameiko: The other best friend, Sachiko takes eager delight in constantly trying to lead the young heiress into ill-advised schemes of mischief. It's rare that she targets Ameiko with mischief herself...at least not intentionally...but quite a lot of the trouble Ameiko got up to as a younger girl was with Sachiko urging her on. Ameiko has a secret weapon against this however, and that is stories of Tian Xe, which immediately make Sachi drop whatever she's doing and hang on her every word. Ameiko's family and history are things that Sachiko is powerfully hungry for, and pursuing that sense of belonging is one of the things that drew her to Ameiko in the first place.

When Ameiko left so abruptly, Sachiko was devastated, and indeed couldn't be found around town either for a few days. She finally trudged back and was mopey and depressed for nearly a week before starting to recover. Then one day, Ameiko returned, but a distance had grown between them compared to before. Their reunion was happy, but there were things now that neither wanted to speak to the other of, and it was therefore incomplete. That distance hurts Sachiko, though only her brother and perhaps Fastus would have any idea how much. In typical fashion though, Sachi intends to attack that distance rather than simply allow it to exist...she wants her old friend back, and will stop at nothing to make it happen!

Sandru: As far as Sachiko goes, Sandru is her bro. Her partner in crime. She's learned a lot from him...and he takes a vaguely paternal interest in how she uses the skills he's taught her. That said, he's almost never around for long so there's not as deep an emotional bond as one might think. Even so, she has a love of engaging in petty competitions with him whenever he IS around. Competitions that she is, for now, doomed to lose. But each one sharpens her skills just a little bit more...

Shalelu: In contrast to how she views her brother, Sachiko definitely feels the 'adopted' in front of this sister. It's not that she doesn't appreciate her, or like her...she just doesn't have much in common with her or particularly enjoy her company. She regards the ranger more like how most kids view a 'stepmother' than as a sister, in most ways; with a vague sense that she's not 'really' part of the family, no matter what everyone says.[/sblock]

[sblock=Background]Thrown into the streets by his human grandfather when his orcish traits manifested, Wireth spent much of his early life scraping and scavenging to get by. The abuse of the locals quickly sent him into the woods, where he watched from afar those who shared half his blood, fearing that his visible heritage would only lead to more pain at their hands.

He was, unfortunately, all too right. After an orc raid on the town, a mob of angry humans took to the wood looking for vengeance, and soon found Wireth in his cave. Though his natural strength was impressive, the number of enemies, fueled by seething hate, made the fight quite short. The young boy cowered, awaiting the death of a monster his grandfather always told him he'd meet.

It was then that Shalelu arrived on one of her self-dictated patrols. With skill and precision, she gave the mob back the pain it had meted, and slipped away with the battered youth. She saw nothing of the monstrosity in his blood, and instead trained him to best use his natural talents.

Wireth soon left, self-sufficient and no longer self-loathing (though he still has trouble not seeing humans as a threat to be navigated). He embraced his heritage by taking up a traditional orc weapon and decorating his body with the sacred tattoos of his people -- about whom Shalelu taught him. Her eyes for worth in the scorned rubbed off on him, and he took on a wounded turkey vulture, Nairo, nursing it to health and teaching it the skills of its more revered raptor cousins. [/sblock]

Analisse Mvashti

[sblock]Analisse was the product of a tryste between her adventurer mother and a traveler. Her mother had many such encounters and so Lisse has no idea who her father might be. Lisse was only two years old when her mother left on another adventure, leaving her in the care of Koya Mvashti. It would be her mother's last adventure as her entire party was slain under mysterious circumstances. Analisse soon displayed an intense curiosity about everything, magic in particular, and it was all Koya could do to keep up with the girl's many interests. Koya tried to keep her focused enough to complete her magic studies and was mostly successful but Analisse's thirst for knowledge would not be sated. Unfortunately, Lisse is also rather naïve and more than a little unlucky...or a simply a clutz. Either way, disaster seems to follow the girl, though she has, thus far, remained remarkably unscathed and undeterred by it.

Analisse has raven black hair, pale skin, and blue eyes that seem to sparkle when the light catches them just right. She stands only 5'2" and is very petite, weighing barely 100 lbs. She doesn't spend much time on her appearance, wearing whatever is convenient and practical for the situation.
