Lookspring holds the bone club at ready for a few moments longer before he realizes that there are no more monstrosities crawling up out of the dark well. He edges over to it and carefully peers over the edge to assure himself that it is over. He looks around at the other sailors and Phoenix carefully. "Did anyone get bit? Or get their soul sucked out? Anyone injured at all?" It might not be over, what if one of the others... turns. They could spread the infection like a virus. We could bring it back to the ship, or the village, and soon this island would be overrun by the undead... can't let that happen. If anyone is sick I'll have to make sure they never make it back.

ooc: epx is much higher with less than half of the origional party. Although encounters can be a bit more dangerous also.

Phoenix will gather a couple skeleton skulls which they have bashed in and prepare to return to the village with their proof of destroying the undead. Congratulating the sailors on their quick thinking and good combat, she turns to follow the path back towards the village...

Lookspring drops his bone club and furiously scrubs his hands on the grass. Suddenly realizing that this is where all the undead were walking around and dropping bits of theirselves, he jumps back up. Grabbing his water skin he douses his hands liberally. Once cleansed to his satisfaction he moves to follow the others back to the village, constantly scrutinizing his companions for any odd behavior as they walk.

As you gather skulls and begin your walk back to the village the night blocks out the sun completely and with the trees overhead it is difficult to follow the path. You find your way to the edge of the village with a few hours remaining before sunrise.

Phoenix will search around for a village guard that can alert the chief that they have returned. Not wishing to disturb anyone, she says to the others, "Perhaps we should wait here at the edge of the village until we are invited back in...?"

Phoenix has no trouble finding guards. As she approaches the village two guards step out of hiding blocking entrance to the village, each holds a spear.

"Greetings. We have returned from the well. Can you tell your chief that we have come back victorious over the undead? Your well should now be usable again by all." Phoenix tells the guards while holding up some of the skulls as proof.

One of the guards steps forward looking over the skulls as Phoenix holds them forth. We cannot wake the old one, but you may speak with him at morning feast. I can show you to a vistors hut. Follow me. You will be comfortable here. He leads you to a hut, no different from any other as far as you can tell.

Lookspring cringes a bit at the mention of using the well again. Once alone in the hut with Phoenix and the other sailors, he whisper furiously to her. "They can't use that well! The dead... they were soaking in it, dropping bits and pieces in there. It's contaminated. What if its disease infects these villagers and makes them all into undead! We can't fight that many. They'll tear apart this flimsy hut with their bare hands to get at our succulent living flesh!"
