I think Ourph's point is an important one, though: I believe that without Gary's style of support, D&D would not have grown to the size it did, and without that I'm not sure it would BE its present size. We're technically probably on 3rd or even 4th generational gamers, now - and those 2nd and 3rd generations would not be as big as they were were it not for avid support that the 1st were shown by Gary.
