Riddle Rooms (Cloud Kingdom Games): Any good???

OK, so I'm for looking around online for some nice puzzles/riddles to add to my game, and I come across Riddle Rooms from Cloud Kingdom Games:

http://cloudkingdom.com/Products/Products_RPG.aspx

I read the description of it, and I'm very intrigued. So I do what i always do before I make a source book purchase, I search for a review, and low and behold I can find none! Normally I don't have any problems finding reviews for role playing books, on this site or other ones.

So ... any one ran or played in a game that used Riddle Rooms? Any good? Know of any existing reviews? What about the Riddle Room Adventures, Thieves Island & Altered Images?

These Riddle Book Adventures look like they may not be d20 compatible. Is that the case? Even if so, I don't imagine they would be too hard to convert to a d20 game, considering that they are based predominantly on riddle and puzzle solving (I think).

I love adding puzzle solving goodness to my games, so I'm champing at the bit to find out more about Riddle Rooms!

Thanks in advance!

just going by the sample riddles they've got on their product pages, it doesn't seem like a very good product. It looks like the only thing that might be challenging about these riddles is "Okay, I know the answer's 'onion', but what the hell am I supposed to do about it."

If I wanted to put a bunch of tangential riddles and puzzles in my game, then I'd be cheaper to just look up some free ones online. If I wanted something that made sense in the context of my game, this book doesn't look up to the job.

I have Dungeon Dilemnas. This company has actually been around for years, and only recently have they decided to climb aboard the d20 wagon. I told them to do this 2 years ago, and they didn't listen to me. Looks like they changed their mind.

Anyway, it's a decent product, with a variety of puzzles. Some are quite strange, and a few are decent. My major complaint is that half of the book is riddles, and another half is like a page each devoted to some sort of character handout, so it's actually fairly sparse on content for what you pay. They have a book of nothing but riddles, and I think you might get more value out of that book if you're looking for just riddles.

I had been intrigued by the product for a few months and was going to wait until Gencon to purchase the, but a month aog at my local game store I found one of them on their discount rack (8 bucks). I just used one of the riddles this evening for an adventure and it worked great. Just make sure you read the puzzles,

It was very easy to incorpirate and very well written. Each book has handouts which makes it very easy for your party. Iv'e read through the book and I didnt see anything non d20 compatible. Most of the puzzles are pretty much logic, word or math puzzles which have nothing to do with dice rolling.

Don't pay full price for it. Not a bad book if you can pick it up in a bargain bin. There's not much you could not do yourself with a book of riddles. I've used one of the riddles - so from my view it paid for itself.

Well, if I'm looking for just a collection of riddles, obviously there are better options. What I'm looking for is puzzles (including riddles and more), challenges, and/or tricks already incorporated into a dungeon, trap, encounter, or even whole adventure (like the Altered Images product). I tend to agree with pogre: if I use just one of the rooms, it's paid for itself. Lord knows I've bought many books that I have yet to anything from! Having said that (and based on DT's comments), I'm probably going to give at least one of them a try. Hopefully I can find a copy in the bargain bin.....

Thanks!

I have a few of their books, and have found them useful. They have been around for a long while, and you can pick and chose as to the riddles that you what to use. A good thing to do is to go to their webpage and sign up for the riddle of the week. It does not cost anything, and it gives you a riddle every week that you can use in games. My only real complaint is that many of the riddles are not sensative to time periods, and you need to watch out for these.
