Ring of Forceshield and Magical Vestment !?

Hiyas!

Can you use the Cleric spell Magic Vestment to improve the armor bonus you gain from a Ring of Forceshield (or more precise from the Forceshield, the ring generates)?

I would say, no.
As the ring generates a small wall of force that can be:
wielded by the wearer as if it were a heavy shield
but it is still a wall of force, which:
is unaffected by most spells.
YMMV

I'm not familiar with Forceshield... did you mean Shield?

In any case, Magic Vestment gives an enchantment bonus to a piece of armor, and armor bonuses do not stack. What does Forceshield give?

He is talking about the Ring of Forceshield.

Force Shield: An iron band, this simple ring generates a shield-sized (and shield-shaped) wall of force that stays with the
ring and can be wielded by the wearer as if it were a heavy shield (+2 AC). This special creation has no armor check penalty
or arcane spell failure chance since it is weightless and encumbrance-free. It can be activated and deactivated at will as a free
action.
Moderate evocation; CL 9th; Forge Ring, wall of force; Price 8,500 gp.

Yeah, guess so, would be neat, tho. :)

OTOH, Wall of Force cannot be moved, this one can... and it is only unaffacted by most spells! ;)

But you're probably right about it!

I would advise house ruling so it can work.

The Ring of Force Shield really just swaps the ring and shield slots. You have the advantages of being able to smuggle a shield where one normally could not, and the weightless aspect of a force effect. You don't get the full benefit of either wall of force or shield. It wouldn't be any more abusive than Magical Vestments normally gets.

It would also be a cool visual to have an semi-invisible shield enchanted with the glowing holy symbol of the cleric.

Well, since it's like a shield, if you can't cast it directly on the forceshield, nothing stops the cleric from enhancing his armor or clothes, as long as their bonus is not as high as the Magic Vestment...

Of course not, but since you can enhance both armor and shield with the spell, so even if you do, the question still remains! ;)

Oh, another random thought... Could the Ring of Forceshield be used to block line of effect from spells? Would size matter? Imagine a halfling with this ring...

Andargor

Nope, it simply grants +2 AC like a large shield, but has no penalties or arcane spell failure and can be turned on and off at will.
