Pathfinder 1E Rise of the Runelords

Next campaign I'll be running Rise of the Runelords for 3 PCs. I'm starting to read through the AP now. However, I was wondering if any of you had run the game previously. Any tips, tricks, potential pitfalls or TPKs I should be aware of? Any innocuous NPCs that need to be introduced sooner than the modules do? Because they happen to secretly turn out to be a beholder in a skin suit? cough shackled city players say what? cough cough

Potential TPK in book 1 in the goblin stronghold. There is an imprisoned creature that if freed could be a tough outing for those character levels.

Potential TPK at the end of book 2. It’s a pretty notorious fight in that AP.

Depending on how you run the stone giant stronghold things go very wrong.

I highly suggest perusing the Rise of the Runelords forum for more tips, tricks, changes and suggestions.

It’s a great AP. Really good time. Pretty classic fantasy stuff.

I’m running it next year for the second time set in Eberron. Some great scenes… really enjoy the foulness of the Grauls. Also make the saw mill really dynamic and the scarecrow ghouls. There is a lot of atmosphere in that campaign.
