Gez: Look up. ! did it first in this thread.

Bret's right, about a couple things. You can build a 16th level Calishite fire Sorcerer like this:

Sorcerer 1
Feats: Empower Spell, Bloodline of Fire
Skills: Knowledge: Arcana 4 ranks, Knowledge: The Planes 2 ranks
Notes: Empower Spell is useless at 1st level, since even an empowered cantrip is a 2nd-level spell. But it's perfectly legal, needed as a prereq for Cooperative Spell, and the best metamagic feat for a fire mage.

Sorcerer 3
Feats: Cooperative Spell.
Skills: Continue maxing out Knowledge Arcana (6 ranks) and the Planes (3 ranks).
Notes: Cooperative Spell is needed to get Mage of the Arcane Order.

Sorcerer 5
Skills: Knowledge: Arcana 8 ranks, Knowledge: The Planes 4 ranks.
Notes: All prerequisites met for Mage of the Arcane Order.

Sorcerer 5/Mage of the Arcane Order 1
Feats: Energy Substitution: Fire
Skills: Knowledge: The Planes 8 ranks
Spells: You need to have 3 fire spells and 1 summon spell to qualify for Elemental Savant.
Notes: To gain the 4 ranks in Knowledge: The Planes, you need an Int of 14+.

From here, you take 10 levels of Elemental Savant. You only gain 3 more feats, so you still have to choose from:
Calishite Elementalist
Genie Lore
Spell Thematics
Spell Focus: Evocation, Greater Spell Focus: Evocation
Spell Penetration, Greater Spell Penetration

All in all, a pretty good fire mage.

But not the best.

A min-maxed Thayan Red Wizard Evoker who takes the Red Wizard prestige class is going to have more potent fire magics (Spell Power +5). Throw in Spellcasting Prodigy and aim for the Archmage.

Gez actually the title is archaic, dates years ago when Eric ran the boards, probably more than a few who could claim it from me these days. I've been a forgotten name since the pantheon left.

This guy is going to be a fun one or two shot addition to our party, frankly fire magic is a crappy route to go, as pointed out already it's too easy a damage source to prevent, and too many monsters are already immune to it. But I don't think the DM is going to make enemies opposed to it for awhile, so this guy gets to have a bit of fun anyway.

True though, I can't say :):):):)e!
