Rogue & Shuriken Questions

Yup. Since it's a light blade, then it counts as a light blade. It seems wierd, since it's obviously a tiny little star and not a knife, but them's the rules.
Shurikens come in many sizes and shapes, mostly because they were made out of anything handy. They arent ALL little stars, and the bigger ones (which is how I interpret them) are essentially throwing knives.

In the weapons section it lists a shuriken as a 'light blade' & 'light thrown'. Would this enable it to qualify for certain Rogue exploits that require a light blade? i.e. Piercing Strike or Riposte Strike.

Yes. It is a ranged weapon, however, and therefor won't work with melee only powers.

Unless ya house rule it. Shurikens were used in close quarters/hand-to-hand combat occasionally (probably as a last resort or whatever). Not an ideal weapon up close in melee I guess, but better than nothing :)

I believe this is covered under "Improvised Weapons"

DC

Murgin, halfling rogue: I stab the goblin with my shuriken! :roll roll: Hit! I do 6 damage!
DM: And take 6 damage.
Murgin: What?! Why?
DM: It's a frickin shuriken, retard. It's nothing but blade. You stabbed yourself in the hand.
