It is too early to say. It is still mid-morning, Mayan time. Got a ways to go before the day is actually done.

Yeah, all that show I shoveled out of my driveway and piled up may form a singularity from which not even light will escape. I take full responsibility. My bad.

Nope didn't make it. I mean I'm still here and there wasn't an apocalypse, just that I was planning on there being one and now because there wasn't one I owe a lot of people a lot of apologies. So no, I didn't 'make it'.

Yup- Mayans were on Central, Rocky Mountain, or Pacific time. Plenty of day left to "oops."

In the modern day, the westernmost parts of South America are in what we'd North Americans call the "Eastern" time zone. Most of South America currently sits in UTC -3 to -5.

Looked at some maps- the Mayans weren't in South America, they were in Central America, in a part located south of Texas & Louisiana.

(Here's one that shows it pretty well: http://www.vhinkle.com/worldmap5.html )

So I was clearly wrong about Pacific & Rocky Mtn- that would have been the Aztecs- but neither do they seem as far East as to be in that time zone.
