Roll Call: calling all Australian Enworld members

Another Canberran here.

I've been playing D&D, mostly DMing, since 1983. I run a lot of Living Greyhawk games, and play in some RPGA games. Oh, and I'm soon to finish my Return To The Temple Of Elemental Evil campaign.

Used to be one of many running a local convention, attended and written for far too many more (must be about 100 conventions by now, over 30 sessions of games written).

Oh, and if it matters, I'm 34.

Been reading this site and it's ancestors since mid-2000 (before 3.0 was actually released).

And I'm not an alcoholic. :-)

Hi Hannibal King,
Chalk another one up for Sydney. :)
Not wanting to start a Sydney/Melbourne thing but really... you'd want to move down to Melbourne
[Hose]I should most likely stop now before a flame war starts up ;) [/Hose]

Anyway, we play every fortnight at Baulkam Hills which is all but the smell of a sparrows fart away from Parramatta as you most probably well know. In fact, half the group travel from much further afield than you!
We have 6 DMs and one player with 5 games currently playing so as you can imagine, we barely have enough time to get too much done. Your age of 34 would put you under the median of our group - 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 40 and 55!!! While I can't promise anything, we are currently in the process of testing a module that some of us are collaborating upon. It might be cool to do a few things here or there with that and see what happens?

Our primary campaign is run by an expat kiwi and you can read about it in my sig if you want a feel for how we play - the first part mainly, as I took a tangent half way through to finish off the background for Lucifus (my character) before heading back to the main action.
Post back here or on the story hour thread if you like what you read. I'll send you an email anyway.

Anyway, it's good to have an Australian thread happening.

Best Regards
Herremann the Wise

Hey Herremann the Wise! I actually read your SH a week or so ago and I thought it was really cool and similar to my style of gaming.
Serioulsy if your looking for a dedicated player who is not some weirdo (please don't be a weirdo, please don't be a weirdo) then drop me an email at spidey@froggy.com.au. I can see you have about 7 players so I won't be offended if you can't fit another one in. I usually played with 4 to 5.
I am in the processes of sending some submissions to Dungeon magazine and if they get accepted (fingers crossed) I would love a new group to playtest them with though.

As for the thread I thought it was the best way to find out how many Aussies on Enworld and possible land myself a new gaming group in the process.

As for Melbourne, I spent 2 weeks down their and no, I wouldn't want to live there, not when you compare it to the greatest city in the world - Sydney!
As the Human Torch would say FLAME ON! (just kidding Moderators! Just kidding)

I'm from Adelaide.

Haven't gamed since approx. 1989 when I was at university.

A big fan of the Forgotten Realms however, and try and keep up with the setting.

With all the Melbournians I have a question:
What do you know about the SFGA? and dont hold back opinoins :P

I've never even heard of it. But I've never been much into the organised side of gaming. I went to an Arcanacon once (on crutches, which was no fun at all with all the stairs!), but that's about it.

Huh, weird. Also Melbournian, also playing Freeport in the Iron Kingdoms. Unless... wait! Are you my DM??

Sydney here as well.

Currently running a 1/month game with 4 players.

I play in another every 3 week game on Monday nights (I'm taking a break from DMing that one). Lot of players in that one ... I think its up to 6 if I'm not mistaken (missed last night's session due to commitments).

Trying to keep the gameplay down a bit since I'm also the organiser for V:TES in Sydney.

Sorry I'm late... though I guess it's not surprising given that over here in little, backwater Perth we're always 2 hours (if not a few years) behind anyway...

:)

at least there's someone here to represent WA... ;)

Just a BUMP to keep this thread at the top, find more Australians and hopefully satisfy the hunger inside me to play in a D&D campaign again.

How many of you guys post on Wizards' boards? I do occasionally when I want specific campaign stuff like Ebberron or Star Wars but mainly on Enworld which absolutely rocks!
I've gone by the names Reebo Kesh, Heinrich Uberlich but Hannibal King (named after the character played with such hilarity by Ryan Reynolds in Blade 3) is my current identity.

Herremann the Wise your writing style and character background reminds me of one of my players who used to churn out this sort of stuff all the time. Alas the guys I play with occasionally can't find the time or dedication to DM anymore, leaving me as sole DM and I don't have much time myself to do even that (the fact that you have multiple DMs makes me green with envy!). So I have decided to look for another group, I'll still run the occassional Star Wars game for them when I can but I just gotta find me a new group. I need to roll a d20 again!

Fair warning to anyone thinking of inviting me into their game, I like to get in character when I play and accents and different voices help me do that. You've been warned. ;-)

AND!!!??
A certain homebrew perhaps..? That has been running for about 10 years now!?

Sheesh!

Heya- Am I the first Novacastrain (ie from Newcastle) to post?

Currently playing in two D&D campaigns, although one is very infrequent (once a month- a homebrew variant) and the other has pretty much flopped (haven't played in about 4 months).

Thinking about rounding up some players to start my own campaign, standard D&D but homebrewed world.
