Rolling up a monk, need help

From everything I've seen, it'll be tough getting both wuxia goodness and energy blasts. At least, nothing like the kamehameha wave from DBZ. It's that whole balance thing. The wave is probably the equivalent of a 4th-level spell, and those don't come cheap.

One thing you might consider is taking a psi-warrior and seeing if your DM will alter the power list for you. I just created a psi-warrior (with ENworld's help! :D) and he can run over walls, across water, move quickly and strike hard. So I can tell you that the class is up to the wuxia half of what you're looking for. If your DM is generous, adding Greater Concussion to your list of known powers could give you something akin to the energy blast you're looking for.

And if Greater Concussion isn't strong enough, you can always try to talk him into something stronger. :D

I think that maybe My imagination has gotten away from me. I'm looking through all my stuff and then it hits me. I'm insane and want to make a super monk. They tell people in AA that admittence is the first step so... on with the insanity!

Abilities that I would like to go for would be:

Some sort of ablity boost (think super sayian. i thought about a rage at first but need to find something that is compatible with monk)
Far jumping (high and long)
running on walls
Insane attacks per round with devistating amounts of damage! (well who doesn't want this!)
Energy attacks (I don't need to do tons of damage. I can describe it however i want I just need to be able to do a ranged dmg attack)

Another crippling thing for my character concept i don't want to use magic items. I want my character to be very focused on self perfection. Magic is a crutch for the weak. Psi is different, it's an inner power. From the description it goes well with the idea of the monk.

So any thoughts:D

Well, my 12th-level psi-warrior covers most of what you want.
Some sort of ablity boost (think super sayian. i thought about a rage at first but need to find something that is compatible with monk)
My guy had the feat Trigger Power, used with the 2nd-level Power Animal Affinity. It let him boost all of his abilities 1d4+1, often with little or no power point cost. But it takes time (1 round per boost) and lasts all day. Not quite the instant but short-lived Super-Saiyan boost, but close.
Far jumping (high and long)
My PC didn't go for this, but you can get the psionic feat Mental Leap, which doubles the results of any jump check. You can even take it multiple times, and the effects stack.
running on walls
My guy did this. Pick up the psionic feat chain Speed of Thought, Psionic Charge, and Up the Walls.
Insane attacks per round with devistating amounts of damage! (well who doesn't want this!)
Can't help you here. You always have to give up something. :p My guy only attacked twice with a full attack. But he was optimized for motion, so I usually only used a single attack and then Spring Attack'ed away.
Energy attacks (I don't need to do tons of damage. I can describe it however i want I just need to be able to do a ranged dmg attack)
Greater Concussion is a 3rd-level Power, and does 5d6 per hit. I think a DM could reasonably be pursuaded to add (or substitute) this onto your power list.

As I've shown you, most of the stuff you can do with a psychic warrior, save for the high number of attacks. However, if you were to multiclass a monk and psychic warrior, you could use flurry of blows, which would bump up your attack number, and there are a lot of psychic warrior powers geared towards strengthening unarmed attacks.

Pick up Beyond Monks: The Art of the Fight. No one making a monk should skip this pdf.

I think you could make a very cool "monk" with a Psy War/Martial Artist (from Beyond Monks). The martial artist has a lot of straight combat power (primarily unarmed), which bolsters the Psy Warrior.

Not to mention all the really bitchin feats in that book. Don't make a monk without it!

PS

In order to properly roll up a monk, you must first flatten the monk. While many gaming books have been mentioned above, few of them have the sheer flattening power of, say an Unabridged Oxford English Dictionary :)

The Black Belt (Coming Soon to FFd20) might be a good option. Just a quick overview of how things will likely work:

* HD: d8
* BAB: As Fighter (includes Monk's # of attacks and unarmed damage, and AC increase)
* Saves: All Good
* Skills: 2 point base. Stuff like Jump, Tumble, Balance, etc.
* Special: Every 3-4 levels, a Black Belt gets to choose a 'Blitz' power. Ones that resemble what you're going for:
--> Enhanced Skill: Grants you a +level bonus to any one skill.
--> Aura Bolt: A ranged touch attack that deals fireball-like damage to one target (minimum 4th level)
--> Ability Boost: +1d4 to an ability score (minimum 3rd level) for 1 hour/level
--> Mystical Flight: Gain a Fly speed equal to your land speed (minimum 6th level)

Etc. Basically, the rule is that a 'blitz' power can only be attained at LEAST one level after a Wizard gets to cast a similar spell.

That's what I'd use, myself. :)

I thought the same thing, If you combined the Ki Blaster Prestige Class, and Psychic Warrior, you could come up with a pretty good character. Maybe add a couple levels of Martial Artist in as well.

The diamond warriors are an order that consists mainly of psychic warriors, though some psions are members. The order concentrates their fighting style on unarmed attacks and mobility, and they spend long hours training their minds and bodies to achieve this end.

If you want weapons, there's the Psionics Weapons Master.
