Roman-Themed Living Arcanis Organised Play Campaign For 5E

Living Arcanis has been around since the d20 days, and has run over 150 adventures. Today, they're returning for D&D 5th Edition with the Living Arcanis 5E campaign - and it includes a free 64-page primer chock full of new content. You can download it right here (just click on the pretty picture below). Arcanis is very "Ancient Rome" in feel. "The campaign begins today, with the release of four Introductory adventures, suitable for 1st level characters. In October, the next four Introductory adventures will be released, with the thirteen adventure story arc entitled, “The Coming of the Destroyer” debuting through May 2017."

• An overview of the world
• New races (the tainted Dark-Kin, new Dwarf types, the elemental Elorrii, Ardakene, the lizard-like SS'ressen, and the psionic Val)

• New class, The Holy Champion, along with two archetypes
• Feats (Twin Blades Stance, Powerful Parayer, Spell Affinity)
• A section on backgrounds and nationality, and a new background, the Former Slave

Me too, Zarithar - While the Coryani Empire isn't a complete reskinning of the Roman Empire, I took all the elements that I enjoy and baked them into it.

jimmifett - Our Arcanis 5E magic item book - Forged in Magic: REFORGED will be supported on Fantasy Ground. I don't plan to do so with this Primer as its purpose is just to give a taste of the setting and the rules. Once the full blown Arcanis 5E RPG is released, it will be available on Fantasy Grounds.

As for tie-ins between the two products, you certainly will. I'm a continuity nut, so I'm reviewing the background and histories listed under each magic item to make sure FiM and the Arcanis books compliment each other.

For example:

Elixir of Longevity
Potion, legendary
Description: The liquid of this potion is clear with a slight yellowish tint.
History:This elixir was used exclusively by the ssanu nobles of Yahssremore during the years before the elorii slave revolt. Brewed from blending the tears of the immortal elorii, extracted through unspeakable tortures, with the venom of a rare and deadly asp, this elixir grants its imbiber an unnaturally extended life.
Abilities/Effects: Once you drink thus potion you must succeed at a DC 25 Constitution saving throw or die instantly. If you succeed your natural lifespan is doubled. This potion may be used multiple times, but each dose requires a new Constitution saving throw to further extend their lifespan.

Looks interesting, thanks for the free product. Still you will never completely win the warlord lovers over by making the tactician a fighter subclass at best it's l I ke the EK someone who dabbles in tactics but is still a fighter when it comes down to it.

Does the lifespan double each time you drink a potion? I.e. lifespan jumps from 100 years to 200 years with the first one, the to 400 with the second, 800 with the third, etc.
