"Romance" centered modules/scenarios

All my games have an element of romance in them...but all romance gets kind of boring so I like to mix it up with some mystery and action.

Pretty well. In an Ars Magica game I GM'ed, the covenant was visited by a woman who had recently lost her husband. Having only heard rumors of wizardly powers, she sought out the covenent to bring him back to life - not knowing that such a thing was impossible. They had several dealings with her where they, these magi who probably would never have a normal relationship, got to hear about how much she loved her husband.

Finally, they had to rescue her from a Diabolist sect that promised her that, yes, they could raise her husband from the dead. Or, rather, incarnate a demon in his form and send it out into the world with her. They rescued her, and she finally believed them.
 

Romance plays a (often big) part in all my adventures as well, both as a main theme and a sidetrek/complication. Could be a human swashbuckler and a drow rogue developping a love/hate relationship while fighting, a low-born paladin wooing a rich noble (trying to earn enough status to be able to marry him, dealing with jealous other nobles and the noble's parents), a bard falling for the wrong (evil) person, a barbarian NPC pursuing a PC according to her tribe's traditions.

Last adventure the party was ordered to rescue a priestess taken captive by a pirate, and discovered the pirate had fallen in love with her, while the PC leading the rescue attempt fell in love with another captive, to the chagrin of her other two love interest. It added flavor and complications to the standard rescue mission with a pirate isle and a sahuagin attack culminating in a duel on deck, rigging and water between the party swashbuckler and the pirate.

This sounds absolutely cool. CAn't imagine it in D&D. Want your husband back? Raise Dead! and there's this little potion called Viagra I have created...
 



Sometimes the fantasy can be taken a leeetle too far. I mean, I'm ok with a little man-man action (not that I'm into that sort of thing, you understand...), and I'm especially ok with a lot of woman-woman action, but at the end of the day, I'm not DM'ing a game to be a fictional, surrogate girlfriend. It's just... icky.

Keep the love to the hippy protests and give me a sword, an orc and a pie :D
 

Yup, as a matter of fact, my current ICQ based game has a pretty strong element of romance. This campaign has probably been among the best ones I've ever run. I started posting the message logs here in the story hour forum, but apparently people have a harder time getting into a story that's in a chat format rather than a story format. Most of my campaigns are centered around a night hag who has quite a few children. She is currently a spectral hag romantically involved with a shade. Many PCs in my undersea campaign share a degree of hagsblood.

Not exactly what you were looking for, eh? ;)
