[Ronin Arts] Datastream Subscription

Man-thing

First Post
Have people heard that Philip and Michael are doing a d20 Future/Modern pipeline similar to their DM's Idea Pipeline. I just saw this posted on Rpgnow...

From Michael Hammes and Philip Reed comes the Future: Datastream, an e-mail subscription service for players and GMs of futuristic D20 System games. Five times each week your e-mail's inbox will receive new game-related material, from new aliens to new starship equipment to new cybernetics and much more! Additionally, once each month you'll receive a new starship design including deckplan and illustration.

The Future: Datastream runs between June 1, 2005 and December 31, 2005. This service uses a private Yahoo Group -- if you do not wish to join a Yahoo Group you will not be able to enjoy this service.

I wonder if Philip will come by and give us a sampling of what to expect.

This is a pretty neat idea. I had heard about the DM Pipline, but I never looked into it. This is right up my alley.

Thanks for the head's up!

Well, there's not much more to add except that some of the starships will include new tiles from SkeletonKey Games and that we're pretty excited about writing this new material.

As with the DM's Idea Pipeline we're open to requests from subscribers.

Will there be a way to pick and choose from the material, much like the Modern Dispatch series? I love the idea, but my wallet doesn't like the thought of plunking down $30 right now...

No, though the material would likely fit into a T20 setting. Our concept is to go with an adventure/space opera feel to the work, much like the existing releases in the Starship series.

Once a month we'll release the previous month's material as a PDF. So in early July we'll release the June material. The subscription will be cheaper, though.

Is it just me, or is anyone else disappointed that 5 out of 6 emails so far from the subscription have dealt with robots? I mean, yeah it's interesting material, but 5 out of the first 6? :\

Don't worry, new stuff is coming. And not robots. :)

Sometimes things bunch together (if the DM's Idea Pipeline is any indication of how we do things) but by the end of the month you'll notice variety in the material.

Thanks for the feedback.
