Roofwalker and Boots of Landing

Thanks for your reply, Iku Rex; I finally understand now. Time to make some
Boots of Landing, Striding, Springing, and Landing, though I'm pretty sure I could change the name!

EDIT:
Price check on those boots (never actually crafted anything before!)

Boots of Striding and Springing : 5500 gp
Psionic Landing ability (1st level catfall spell) and extra ability cost: 1500 gp
Landing quality and extra ability cost: 6000 gp

Leads me to 13000 gp. Did I do everything right?

You can't swap a spell for a psionic power to make a psionic item. Even using the magic/psionic transparency rules.

Psionic items require manifester levels to craft (and psionic craft feats) and not the magic item craft feats.

Basically the item is either a magic item or a psionic one - if attempting to craft a magic/psionic item you are heavy into house-rule territory and personally I would require the use of both sets of feats (psionic craft and magic item craft) in order to make since they do not "match up" evenly.

Ah, I understand now-- no magic and psionic items. The Psionic Landing quality was just a bonus-- I really don't need it, anyway.

Thanks for your help!

EDIT:

But other than that, did I do the pricing right? They're now at 11500 gp. Does that seem about right?

I didn't think you could apply armour qualities to wonderous items. It has a defined property of "armour".

Assuming you can though (which I don't think you can), I think the cost would actually be 13,500 since you would be paying +50% for adding an ability, then +50% more for body slot affinity (since landing is not a property for boots, and thus doesn't match the body slot affinity). I think.

Oh, and depending on how the DM does the math, it could actually be more than that (i.e. (4000*1.5)*1.5)+5500=14,500)

Boots are armor, though, right? I haven't read anything that says that you can't do that.

And I think you're right on the price-- I forgot to add in Body Slot Affinity.

Nope. The definition of amour is the complete suit, not the individual components. So while boots may certainly be part of a suit of armour, they aren't a suit of armour in an of themselves. Boots (in and of themselves) are wonderous items (see list of umpteen bazillion "boots of ..." items for supporting evidence).

Good idea in terms of trying to provide some falling protection, but per RAW I think you will need both armour and boots (or a lenient DM :)) to achieve what you want to do (look on the high side, I think it's cheaper that way).
