Rot grubs & Water Weirds?

These were classic AD&D monsters that don't show up in the MM. Where can I find 3.x stats for them? Are they in any of the later WotC monster books (MM2-3, FF?) which I don't have? Or has anyone converted them?

I am working on converting an adventure called The Halls of Beoll-Dur from the September 1980 Dragon magazine. It's a lot of fun reading some of these old adventures.

Although the MM2 Elemental Weirds are interesting, they're nothing like the older ones. I'd check Tome of Horrors to see if they might have a more faithful version.

I found the rot grub in the Tome of Horrors. But no sign of the water weird. Maybe I'll have to dust off the ancient MM and convert it myself.

Are you looking for the original stats or the converted stats, because the MM 1st ed I have has them both.

Rot grubs are in the Tome of Horrors, elemental weirds in the MM2- but they've changed significantly in 3ed; now they're sort of oracular creatures tied to pools of their element.

Monsters of Faerun has the aballin which is pretty close to the water weird.

BTW, am I the only one who dislikes the 3.xE weirds and wants the original weirds back?

I believe rot grubs can also be found in the DMG, can't remember if its 3.0 or 3.5 but their in with traps if I remember correctly. They set them up more as a generic threat than an actual monster.
