Round 8 is OVER!

Whirlwind Attack

It has a bucketload of prerequisites, the half of which (spring attack and mobility) cannot be used in conjunction with it, and to top it off, it isn't even that good. There are af few times when it's better than Great Cleave, but those times are so few and far between as to not be worth mentioning. By the time you can actually have the feat, you're unlikely to see those situations crop up again too since they all involve weak monsters or numbers so overwhelming that dropping enemies does not reduce the number of attacks you take.

As for the PDF, I'd like Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe if it's available and within the price range; if not: 0-one games Dungeon Corridors battlemap pdf.

Improved Turning

As for PDF's... I don't keep too up on them to know what is a good feat one. I am sure given the opportunity I could find one that was a good read though!

Whirlwind Attack: It has the possibility of being useful, if it wasn't for the fact it required 4 other feats, as well as a int of at least 13 (not something many fighters have) which makes it far to hard to get for the limited use it has.

As for a pdf I don't really want one. I'm not in a active group right now so I'm sure there are many other people in this thread that can make far better use of a pdf then I could at the moment.

POWER ATTACK

Bite the dust!

Skill focus is totally useful, I don't know what you guys are griping about. +3 to a skill helps solve that little "cross class penalty" problem for anyone! Or jacks up your skill to grand heights! :)

It looks like Improved Turning and Maximize Spell might be out...which is good for everyone. :)

Another vote for Improved Turning.

As far as feats go, a feat that is good for only one class, against only one type of encounter, that can seriously drive down the challenge rating of that encounter needs to go.

Asta la Vista you 2E tag along...

As far as PDFs go, it's not neccessary but I certainly wouldn't argue against a quick shopping trip through RPGnow.

Vote: GREAT FORTITUDE [GENERAL]
Reason: The only people with feats to burn on stuff like this are fighters, who don't need it.

PDF: Something to help my NPC's names not suck, or something to give me ideas for backgrounds for said NPCs

Blind-fight

Hrmm... Blind-fight I guess. No one in my group has ever bothered with it.

Fantastic Stunts
The Inner Eye
Way of the Arcane Archer
Forbidden Arcana
Evokers

All looked interesting.

Yay! Metamagic feats are finally on their way out! Empower Spell should be next, because Maximize Spell is better any time the average number is less than two/thirds the maximum, so if you must go the metamagic route that's the way to go.

You'd need a spell dealing x d12 damage for Maximize to be remotely interesting compared to Empower. Empower is ONE LEVEL CHEAPER than Maximize, do not forget it. And it can even outgrow in damage Maximize Spell. Maximized magic missile: 25 damage for a 4th-level spell slot; Empowered magic missile: on average 26 damage (with min 15 and max 35) for a 3rd-level spell slot.

So, while Empower can be removed, it should not go before Maximize. Maximize is teh lame suck. :p
