Combat Expertise

Mounted Combat

Improved Bull Rush

1.) Never seen someone make a smart fighter. Me grog hit things.

2.) Horses do not fit in dungeons, although they make good snacks for wandering monsters.

3.) Bull rush stinks, and there is no improving it.

Why all the hate for Combat Expertise? I simply love this feat. Every fighter I've played has had it. If only they'd made Combat Casting along these lines such that you could 'cast defensively' gaining AC even while not in a threatened area.

ESCHEW MATERIALS [GENERAL]

Might be actually useful once or twice per campaign (unless your DM is a bastard)

HEIGHTEN SPELL [METAMAGIC]

Every spellcaster should be able to do that without the feat, just like augmentation is normal for every manifester.

MOBILITY [GENERAL]

If you want that feat, you probably have a good enough tumble bonus to evade AoO's entirely.

Eschew Materials - nice flavor, almost never comes into play
Improved Bullrush - not a bad ability, but seems like most GMs/Authors don't bother putting in features that would make it worthwhile unless PCs are the ones meant to be pushed in...
Improved Overrun - as the base overrun mechanic is kind of flawed (e.g. - an overrunning ogre is stopped by two goblins), a feat that makes slightly better isn't really worthwhile

Natural Spell
Craft Staff
Weapon Finesse

I agree that natural spell fails in simple feat design. It should either be a class feature or not exist at all. If they want Druids to be able to do it, let 'em do it, don't pretend that it's an 'option' by labeling it a feat.

Craft Staff: I still say that staff crafting is a horrible waste of time, XP, and gold.

Weapon Finesse: I say this should be a weapon feature. Some weapons just ARE finessed, and some are wielded by strength.

"Wondrous Item" is a blanket term for any magic item that doesn't belong to one of the more common categories. Since as a group they're defined only by *not* being a bunch of other things (wands, potions, etc.), it's absurd that a single feat would work for any of them. So your level isn't high enough to forge a ring of XYZ? No problem, just make it a bracelet instead, there's a totally different feat for it, you can take it sooner, and the bracelet can still be treated exactly like a ring that happens to be a bit large for a single finger.

Oddly enough, that's what I personally think makes this feat so *good*. If you apply enough logic and the GM doesn't restrain you, craft wonderous can take the place of ALL magic creation feats. I can't make a staff but here's a rope that allows me to cast high level spells up to 50 times... I can't enhance your armor but here's a gem that I can attach permanently to your armor which will creat an enhancement bonus. Etcetera. You can stretch this feat to do ANYthing!

Heighten spoell is one of the more useful metamagic feats I've found.

I'll agree, but that's actually the very reason it should be voted off! It shouldn't be a feat at all, but like Natural spell it really should just be a feature.

CRAFT MAGIC ARMS AND ARMOR [ITEM CREATION]
CRAFT WAND [ITEM CREATION]
CRAFT WONDROUS ITEM [ITEM CREATION]

Paying experience points is teh suk.

Very much so. Who's responsible for designing that into the game? And 100% success all the time? Yeesh, I hope they've been fired, or better yet disMissed himself to join another Company to write some alternate players manuals.

Improved Bull Rush
Improved Overrun
Far shot

Whilst they might be useful in the situation It's too specific a mechanic to waste a feat on.

I am voting for the following:

  • Enlarge Spell - never used and poorly named based on what it does
  • Greater Weapon Specialization - by the time you qualify for this feat, is an extra +2 to damage really worth it?
  • Widen Spell - poorly named and fairly pointless
