RPG/D&D terms and phrases that are no longer clever or amusing.

I'll start...

"Poke-Mount" and "Poke-Paladin". When was the last time you heard someone say "poke-demon" when a Balor summoned a lesser tenar'ri? When was the last time you heard the term "poke-priest" when a cleric summoned a planar ally? I'm betting never. Just because a paladin can now summon his mount dosen't mean that WOTC is trying to turn D&D into Pokemon.

Next! :D

I think we can credit Psion with creating that one. I could be wrong, but I thought he was the one to make it up.

I know I've grown very tired of several phrases and words when I see them, but the only one that comes to mind right now is rollplayer; cute play on words the first few times it was used. Maybe.

That and the phrase "you bastard!" directed my way. But that's probably not well known outside of the group I DM for :)

I never liked the term "Wilderninja" to describe the new ranger. Makes me want to create a Paladin/Ranger PrC called the "Wilderknight". :D

I've never really had any problems with specific terminology. It's hearing some of the same concepts being bandied back and forth constantly that drive me insane-- though I run into more of it on the Wizards boards than here.

And, to avoid threadjacking, I'll avoid discussing those concepts that irritate me.
