[RPG] Magic Fixed (Hopefully)

Yet another fix applied. The developer promises that this one works.

Please tell me that it does. I'm tired of this magic bug! :)

i don't have any MP. and the Kobold unleased some hefty magic on me too with his 1 MP.

ouch. i still won. but it is costing me at the temple

I posted before applying it - hopefully your Kobold battle was before I uploaded the file, not after!

Morrus, I'm confused as to why you would implement an MP reduction based upon attack, and a magic reduction based upon armor. It makes magic pointless (as noted before:)), even if magic attacks are much, much more powerful than physical attacks. Also, the fact that the moves available are seemingly random makes the whole system kind of funky. Is there any way for us to get ALL of our possible moves each turn?

It would be nice to only have magic-based attacks that we can afford also, as you (I think) said you'd try to do. :)

I think there are still kinks in the system. I just fought a Wraith (and lost :\ - it did 200 hp of damage to me in 4 rounds) and levelled up during the fight. However, it hit me and knocked me back down to 0 MP the next round. It does look like the Wraith had to spend MP to cast, but we also seemed to be taking MP damage from successful hits.

Also, I forget, but how much MP does Chain Lightning cost? Thats the one that really hurt - it opened with an 89 point Chain Lightning strike, then an Acid Arrow, then after a round I was dead, so I didn't see what it finished with.

Once I get healed back up I'll keep testing...

yeah, i watched this fight. at first i was shocked how much damage a wraith could do. and then doubly so to see Nny slain.

Just fought a kobold.

Did 19 points of damage with a magic missile (vs. my 110 DEF) with his 1 magic point. Next round, he unleashed a Finger of Death against me (for 8 points of damage. I made my save apparently :p)

At least I wasn't alone in my shock and dismay then :heh:

Orcs are still flinging spells. If anything I'd say the monsters are doing more damage now than before this last patch.
