A 'networking, meet folks' site. I'm doing a little experiment. I've registered for a 'site' of my own. I can invite people to come join it, or you can go to Friendster your self and sign up. If you'd prefer an invite send my contact info via email. Signing up yourself merely requires your visiting Friendster.
If you do decide to sign up on your own, you should be able to get in touch with me via my name (Alan), email (mailto:mythusmage@mythusmage.com), and location (San Diego, ca 92101). I'm new to this, so I may have gotten a few things wrong.
The Experiment? To get some idea of just how large the RPG community is. To learn how many are involved in the hobby. And how many are 'central' to the community. Who the 'nodes' are.
I learned about Friendster from a news story on the subject. In the story it was revealed that most folks are at most 3 or 4 contacts away from about 40,000 people. They mentioned one lady with contacts to something like 700,000 people. I'd like to see if there's anybody in the hobby that can beat that.
