- Mike continues with his overview of D&D Next by diving deeper into the details behind the two main goals for the game. This is the second of two articles; the first, looking at the overall design goals, is here. In this article he described the basic rules setup in some detail (i.e. one without any of the optional modular elements used):
- They don't give much detail beyond the rules needed to run dungeon exploration.
- Skills aren't part of the game (but classes might get skill dice on predetermined ability checks).
- Each class is the "iconic" version of the class: "Clerics will turn undead, wield maces, wear heavy armor, and heal characters. Wizards will throw fireball and magic missile. Fighters will wear heavy armor and wield the best weapons. Rogues will be sneaky, good with traps, capable of climbing walls, good at backstabbing or sneak attacks..."

- Midgard Legends from Kobold Press is now available for Pathfinder. It includes a pile of heroes, villains, monsters, spells, items, and more.
- The Pathfinder Online Kickstarter is now in its final 12 hours, with $120,000 to go! [Update - they made $25K just in the hour since I posted this, so I think they'll be OK!]

- Shadowrun fans will be pleased to hear about three new products from publishers Catalyst Game Labs -- first, there’s the long-awaited follow up to The Way of the Adept in the Shadowrun Options series: The Way of the Samurai. Next there’s Sprawl Sites: High Society and Low Life, a new collection of eight full-color maps. And finally, a classic PDF: Paranormal Animals of Europe
