RPG Print News – Cubicle 7, Privateer Press, and More

What is best in life? To roleplay a raccoon sky pirate in a flying trash ship who acts randomly and attempts to fend off the Neighborhood Watch while hopefully avoiding blowing up the ship. Or perhaps it is to grab the latest Iron Kingdoms books for D&D. Or play a Power Ranger, a Soulbound with a vehicle or ship, or crew for Mothership in various deadly and entertaining escapades. If you manage to play both a racoon sky pirate and a Power Ranger at some point, please post here with the best bit of trash you nicked and what color ranger you are.

Raccoon Sky Pirates by Hectic Electron
  • SYSTEM: GMless unique
  • PRODUCT TYPE: boxed set with a 56-page zine, a deck of cards describing a wide variety of hilarious complications, and a 12-sided die with a raccoon face on the 12
  • RETAIL PRICE: $25
  • DESCRIPTION: A narrative, GM-less role-playing game for up to six player-racoons that takes about three hours to play. You and your friends play raccoons: chittering, baggy-pants, ring-tailed burglars. One day in the junkyard, after inventing an improbable antigravity device, you hatch a scheme to build a ship out of trash and fly to the suburbs in search of better trash. Flying a ship takes coordination and discipline. Unfortunately, you're a bunch of raccoons so what you do is random (you're a raccoon, after all). You have to narrate a scene out of your random action, whether it was helpful or not, and all the complications introduced. When multiple raccoons act in concert, you can trade dice to get a result that works better. While trying not to wake up the residents or the dog, loot the house of all its valuables, like Roombas, PlayStations and other trash. Finally, loaded down, escape back to the junkyard while fending off the Neighborhood Watch. And making sure your ship doesn’t explode.

The Spanish publisher "Nosolorol" said they would translated "Iron Kingdoms". My intention is to buy it when these was translated, the player handbook and the monster manual/monsternicon. A true jewel for collectors.

I didn't realize that the Power Rangers RPG was dropping this week. Curious to see reviews of the Essence 20 system they're using to see how it plays.

Interesting the Iron Kingdoms site says it was released Fall 2021. Is it only at nobleknight? I don't see it listed at amazon for example.

In Spain the publisher Nosolorol has started a crowdfunding for a translated version of Iron Kingdom. This company is maybe now the most active to publish new titles in the current market. Devir and Fantasy Flight also publish something, but with a relatively slower candence, at least about my favorite lines.

Fantasy Flight's not doing RPGs anymore... their RPGs got moved to Edge by Asmodee.
