If that isn’t enough, the Borderlands have arrived for D&D Iron Kingdoms – Requiem. And the 90s represent with a new version of Rokugan. So much D&D. But not all! Bunnies & Burrows is back too, but it started over a decade earlier than Spelljammer. And there is a planetary romance RPG in which aliens kidnaped humans to alien moons and now Living Metal wants to enslave or kill everyone. Plus fifty other RPGs to try.

Planets of Peril by Precis Intermedia
  • SYSTEM: unique
  • PRODUCT TYPE: softcover core rulebook

  • DESCRIPTION: Humans were abducted to the Moons of Kerogo by aliens now extinct but now Living Metal wants to enslave or kill all the humans. It is time for the PCs to take up the sword once again. Adventure and romance await. Uses a simple rules system that rates every skill, challenge, and foe by a single die (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, or d20; and rarely d100). This means that only two dice are rolled for actions, one for each side, representing either ability or difficulty. The difference between the two rolls determines the degree of success or failure. I backed An Unexpected Wedding Invitation as a solo campaign for my wife. It's very focused, with a bit of combat (featuring the new Goblin Queen monster), intrigue at the wedding and a good supplemental work of new spells that would fit in well in many campaigns where things are a bit more civilized and peaceful than not.

Legend
Adventures in Rokugan is going to be pretty controversial with fans of L5R...
No goblins. (Not even as PCs.)
Many non-human species (and yes, it uses species) as playable species.
Attribute modifiers by species are not established as to which attributes - much the same as in Tasha's.
Most schools require multiclassing (which means the schools will likely be unused by most).
Artisans as spellcasters.
Emphasis on individual heroism - a specifically western emphasis - rather than on self-sacrifice and duty.

It's a solid enough game design at first blush, but it's piss poor for Rokugan as we know it from other sources (including from D&D 3.5...).
