Keserin is an isolated forest hundred in the Kingdom of Rethem’s Parachshire, where heavily forested foothills meet the low rocky spurs of the Rayesha Mountains. Although the landscape is dotted with forgotten ruins from the Corani Empire, civilization has long been kept at bay by gargun (orcs) and the Kubora barbarian tribes. The area’s mineral wealth, however, has not been forgotten.

Nestled in a deep ravine lies a mining complex held by the Order of the Red Shadows of Herpa, a religious fighting order devoted to Agrik, the dark god of war and violence. Outsiders are not welcome and those who work there know better than to reveal the secrets of the Red Shadows. Of the slaves who toil there, none have escaped the mine and the cruel wilderness that surrounds it.

The Keserin Mine article contains details of the mine complex and its operations as well as descriptions of the guards, miners, slaves, and others who are found there. In addition to full-page color GM and player maps of the settlement, detailed plans and descriptions are given for the entire complex.

A long journey under an azure sky filling with brackish, boiling clouds ends at a large oak tree. Here, from a muscled branch, a man hangs limply by a thick rope strangled around his neck. New game play options presented:​

  • Underwater Adventuring - Take on the challenge of exploring the deep waters surrounding the islands and the Land within the Mist.
  • Domain Management - An alternative and complementary system to that presented in Old-School Essentials allows players to optionally share in the privileges and responsibilities of ruling a domain, while earning gold, experience, and War Dice for use in mass combat.
  • Mass Combat - A simple system for mass combat resolution, using Mass Combat Units. Units battle similarly to standard combat between characters, with options included for combat between units, characters, and monsters.
  • Runes - Used for secret writing or to infuse objects with spells via Power Runes.
  • Artifacts - Ancient magical constructs created by the Immortals, with powers and dangers beyond that of normal magic items.
  • Dragon Riding - Mist Dragons are companion flying mounts, with their own abilities.
  • Immortality - Found a cult and gain enough followers to ascend as an Immortal.
Requires Old-School Essentials - Land of Mist is designed to be used with Old-School Essentials Advanced Fantasy. Some classes, races, and other character options use content in the Advanced game. A guide is provided in the appendix for use with the Classic game. You can download the Basic Rules for Old-School Essentials for free from Necrotic Gnome on DriveThruRPG.

The Silver Way sets a new standard for trade route articles. The history and economic importance of the Silver Way are covered with detailed sections about each day's march and nightly campsite.

The Silver Way is the only road into the ancient and wealthy Kingdom of Azadmere. It is one of four major trade routes that converge on Tashal, and one of the most important trade routes on Hârn. It is also one of the most dangerous.

Altitude and other mountain perils make the Silver Way uniquely treacherous. Heavy snowfall makes the trail impassable from mid-autumn to late-spring, but the trail is a challenge even in summer. Sudden torrential rains can cause flash flooding. The ancient Khuzan construction is not completely impervious to the ravages of weather and age; every year reconstruction is required for some sections. For most of its length the trail is wide enough for two laden mules to walk side by side, but it is steep and twisting for long stretches, and a slip for one mule can easily cause the loss of two or more.

As if physical dangers were not enough, the route traverses brigand and gargun territory. The lower reaches of the Silver Way are haunted by bands of brigands who prey on small groups before they can join the great caravans that depart from Naniom Bridge. Close to Zerhun, the former Khuzan mines of Fana are now home to an aggressive and dangerous colony of Gargu-Viasal. The Foulspawn attack caravans that appear weak or disorganized. Experienced travellers never travel the Silver Way alone.

This product now includes a 2-page expansion previously sold separately: "Ruins of Traketh." Full-color plans and details of the ruins are included along with several adventure hooks the GM can use to bring the location into play.
