(rpg) Traveller -- tell me why you like it?

And I stand by the assertation that there was no descriptions of what a typical person in a typical starship would see or be able to interact with. Drink prices, news outlets, how security at a starport worked. It just was very sparse on details, it seemed.

There were no descriptions of such things, but one of the major themes of the game is that the universe is very non-homogeneous. Each world is different, sometimes vastly so. One world may be a high tech pardise while the world next to it may be a depressing factory world caught in world wide fossil feul smog. The next one may be an agrarian society where knights ride horses and carry imported SMGs and swords. Each world is different so all those details would be vastly different and it was expected to write up everything for each world. This is the way it was in the adventures. Each world had it's details written up as well as special equipment that was available on those worlds.
