The impression I get is that beyond having enough interested RPGA members, you need to have a d20 company that can commit to running it and design adventures for it. Gone are the days when the RPGA used to do most of that (that's not to say they don't have their hands full.) And, of course, you have to have it in a setting, not just a generic game.

So if WotC doesn't want to back Urban Arcana as a living setting. I guess you're out of luck for d20 Modern until some 3rd party publisher steps up to the plate.

Somebody came up with the idea of a bunch of D20 Modern players getting a bunch of Airsoft guns, and crashing a Vampire LARP as D20 Modern Vampire hunters... :)

Sign me up for that one! I'd love to slap around some of those self-absorbed, pouty, pretentious WoD LARPers.

Living Spycraft, managed by AEG, is the exception, not the rule.

The only Living Campaigns wholly run by the RPGA are Living Greyahwk, Living Force, and Legacy of the Green Regent. The others (Living Death, Arcanis, Kalamar, etc.) are termed "Member Enabled" campaigns, which means that they are run by devoted volunteers. Just about all the scenarios are written by RPGA members/Living players, not publishers. This is true even of Living Spycraft, I think...all their staff is volunteer, and they welcome new writers from their player base.

So, since d20 Modern is a WotC product and I doubt they are keen on starting up another Living campaign, it would be up to eager volunteers like yourselves to prepare a plan, organize, and present your proposal to the RPGA for sanctioning.

It could work.
