RPGA Herald Test or SRD Wrong?

On a lark, I went to take the RPGA Herald test.

I failed because the one question didn't match the SRD, and I'm trying to identify which is correct, since IDHMBIFOM.

The question was about how far you could using a sunrod in total darkness.

SRD 3.5 said:
Sunrod: This 1-foot-long, gold-tipped, iron rod glows brightly when struck. It clearly illuminates a 30-foot radius and provides shadowy illumination in a 60-foot radius. It glows for 6 hours, after which the gold tip is burned out and worthless.

But the Test said this:
RPGA Herald Test said:
"Question: Soveliss, an elf ranger, leads his friends into the pitch-black corridor. Unable to see in the darkness, he ignites a sunrod and peers ahead. How far can he see?
Correct Answer: b. 60 feet plus another 60 feet of shadowy light.
Source: Player's Handbook v.3.5 pages 16, and 164-165."
120 feet radius for a sunrod? That sounds like a mistake, to me.

That sound you hear is me smacking my head into a nearby wall. Repeatedly.

For some reason, I totally blanked on that.

Oh, and for what it's worth, the test needs to be taken using Internet Explorer. Firefox makes it do very odd things, like give answers to questions you weren't asked.

I do recall when I did that test a couple of years ago, there were multiple errors... I understand that it's much better these days, but I haven't tried it recently.

There still are errors alright...unless I don't have my rules on how to determine the ECL of a monster character right. On what level can an Azer get his first level of fighter anyway?

I've been trying to take the test since I saw the link here.

The Azer question's answer according to the test is 4th, but as near as I can tell, it should be 3rd - the Azer is a 2 HD creature. It has an ECL adjustment of +4, which means a Azer Ftr 1 is treated like a 7th-level character when it comes to experience, starting treasure, etc.

7 = 2 (Monster HD) + 1 (Class Level) + 4 (ECL Adjustment)

It's still only a 3rd-level Character, however.

The other error I came across was the question regarding Tordek breaking through a "Simple Wooden Door," and hitting it for 12 damage with his axe.

Simple wooden doors have Hardness 5, 10 HP. Therefore, the door should have 3 hit points remaining.

According to the test, the answer was 8.

I also take issue to their question regarding the "Wolf Skeleton." Wolves can be Medium or Large creatures, and therefore you can't really determine how many HP the wolf skeleton should have - though the "basic" one mentioned in the MM / SRD is medium-sized.

Furthermore, their question about the Magmin stinks. When struck with a heavy mace, it takes damage equal to 1d8 + Strength modifier - 5 (DR), none of which is an option.

Also, they list "Avoid Falling into a Pit" as a skill check of DC 20. Last time I checked, the only time you'd be actively avoiding falling into a pit would be a Reflex save.

Bah. Stupid RPGA can't even get its test right.

I ran into most of the same mistakes myself when taking the test (right when their 3.5 test came out). I wonder if they've since fixed it... I sent an email to RPGA, but unsurprisingly got no response.
