RPGA Questions

Yeah, that would be great if you could mail me a card! I'm sure there are some members up here, but who knows where they are. It seems the fanbase is relatively low up here.

When I passed the Herald Level exam, WotC mailed me my card and number, so it's possible to get one without attending an event.

Unfortunately, that's no longer possible. They recently changed the Herald-level exam, so you can't even take it unless you already have an RPGA number.

tylermalan, send me an e-mail with your snail-mail address, and I'll send you a membership form. You just need to fill it out and snail-mail it back to RPGA HQ; your new RPGA number is already on the form (and on a detachable card that you keep when you send the rest of the form back).

Can anyone give me some basic information on the RPGA? I'm a little confused as to what it even is...

This is an interview with Ian Richards, the guy who runs the RPGA.

And if you're looking for a Living campaign to get involved with (there are online conventions running events) check out Living Arcanis. A description from the president of Paradigm Concepts, Henry Lopez, can be found at this link:

I hope this helps you.

You should be able to get a card through the mail without the need to goto an event. THe way I got a number and card was to play in an event that we ran ourselves. It might be that one person needs to goto an event to get the card and then they can run for others and get them cards.

I will get the rarely seen Shadowlight to add some more detail to this remark, but I believe Crothian is correct. One player from our group (Shadowlight) managed to procure a number of cards and then we simply filled out the information forms and he registered the rest of us.

Will they send me back some kind of notification once they've received and processed the membership application, or will they just let me keep the card and go on my merry way?

Aww, that's too bad. I also got my membership by passing the test, having never been to any events (and still haven't). But it was free and now I get to read 5-Foot-Steps. I'm glad I did it when I did then.
