Mr Jones stares hard at the guard immagining how he would appear without his weapons and radio. The mentalist then attempts to infiltrate that image into the guard's subconcious. "You should surrender, son" He says.

"Not on your life" the man replies, leveling his weapon

As the guard raises his gun, he quickly finds it ripped from his grip and hovering in mid-air, several feet in front and above him. "You really ought to listen to the man, he's smarter than he looks."

Disarming guard (+10 attack, -4 disarm) (1d20+6=26)

[sblock=ooc]Woot natural 20!

Also, I accidentally rolled an initative (was flipping through old addresses in my bar to get down to invisible castle and I went to the one that rolls an initiative roll), so there's an extraneous initiative roll today (2007-07-14 18:40:03)

Just wanted to get that out there in case we actually do have to roll initiative again today and I don't want it to look like I was cheating. :)

Round Summary
Archeville and the guard fire wild shots at each other, neither close to hitting their intended target. The guard ignored Mr. Jones ply for Diplomacy and resisted the mentalist's attempt and memory modification. Using his staff's trademark ability Zenji easilly rips the guard's weapon from him.

actions?

[sblock=Inner Conflict]Shoot him now! Do it quickly, so we can get on and find the Minister!

No, no, give him a chance to surrender -- we can't kill him, but that's just what our blaster may do![/sblock]

"How 'bout surrendering now, hrm? I left zhe power regulator off mein gun zhis morning, so if I fire on you, you vill be very badly injured."

Readying an action so that, if he does anything but surrender, Archeville shoots him full of microwaves. Ranged (conditional) attack roll. (1d20+8 = 19)

The guard starts the raise his hands in surrender, drawing a pistol from his belt. Before he has a chance to level it, Archeville's shot goes off sending the man to the ground.

Zenji had been concentrating intensely on the gun, keeping it still and aimed true. His mind wrapped around every contour of the device, hugging it like a glove, caressing it with his thoughts...

The sudden motion of the guard combined with the sound of Archeville's blaster going off startles Zenji, and without even thinking he instinctively tightens the pressure around the gun's trigger. As suddenly as it goes off, it drops to the ground... but its beaten by the Arcane Antiquarian's staff as Zenji suddenly releases his grip.

"Oh god!" the young hero shouts as he rushes over to look at the guard.

"Ja" Says mr Jones, not altogether mocking the Scientist's accent. "But where should we search? This guard should have been heading to HQ so perhaps it is here in University House. But he seemed very strong willed so he could just have been playing up and leading us away from the building he was guarding. I say we start our serch here, its as good a place as any."

[Sblock=Actions]If no one objects ESP and super sences to get a rough idea how many people are in University House.[/sblock]

[sblock=Mr Jones]
As Mr. Jones begins to scan the University House he comes to a mental brick wall; he cannot perceave anything in the house.
[/sblock]

"Well this looks to be the place." Says Mr Jones. "Someone has set up a mental defence that I can not penetrate. So we will need to investigate further the old fashioned way."

[Sblock=actions]Switch the mental array to "Mind switch and Mind shield." Not that I am paranoid or anything.[/sblock]
